Strong governance is vital for developing environmental policies to promote renewable energy consumption and discourage nonrenewable sources. The present research explores the effect of economic growth different indicators on in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka using data from 1996 2019. For this purpose, study uses econometric techniques find long-term effects rule law, regulatory quality, corruption control, government effectiveness, political stability, voice accountability, oil, natural gas, coal, hydroelectricity, consumption. results show that has a positive impact all investigated Additionally, quality measures also increase types Except law negative, effectiveness positively affects Control gas Political stability negative sources magnitudes most are found be larger than testing nexus scant global literature missing South Asian literature. Hence, contribute how economies can more sustainable use by enhancing economies. Particularly, imply these countries should focus improving governance, help maintain balance Moreover, issue needs further attention countries, as would play an effective role promoting energy.

The present paper studies the evolution of European Union (EU) tertiary sector in context 2020, 2030 and 2050 EU energy climate targets. It uses official data (mainly from Eurostat) to analyse consumption efficiency patterns during period 2000 2019. With highest growth rate among most important economic sectors studied (21%), is expected have an increasingly role green transition. Data on trends are included, showing others that primary final decreased by 5.6% 1.1% 2019, as well main policies possible determinants, like situation, employment, climatic conditions, building characteristics. Based econometric modelling decomposition analysis, we highlight indicators influence specific determinants examine impact technology improvements. study these identifies other perspectives beyond demand sector. based panel dataset at Member States level, investigates drivers including climate, policy indicators. Overall, contributes a better analysis efficiency, its driving factors, effectiveness implemented strategies measures, suggests future research new be developed. Strategic policy planning has gained increasing importance in international energy and climate policy. This paper aims to contribute the debate on stringent by drawing lessons learned from two decades of strategy development field European efficiency Since inception first national action plans under Energy Services Directive (2006/32/EC), Commission Member States have had a long experience strategies. analyses setting up strategies traces progress made 2007–2020. Our findings show that major improvements are attained latest through adoption harmonised reporting approaches, evidence-based target methods, establishment better monitoring systems broader consideration packages. Various areas with significant potential for further also identified, ranging more coherent framework policies measures need encourage targets line country's cost-effective potential. Embedding larger framework, considering how it can support pressing socioeconomic challenges, is pivotal importance.

The use of energy is a precondition for global economic and civilisational development. However, the growing demand depleting traditional resources and, most importantly, causing environmental pollution, mainly through emission greenhouse gases. As necessary functioning all sectors economy, such as industry, services, transport well households, these are largest contributors to consumption. Renewable sources an alternative generating from conventional fossil fuels. main objective this paper was determine compare level, trends variation in consumption by different countries European Union 2010–2019. Abstract At global scale, the building sector accounts for 40% of total energy end use and almost 35% greenhouse gas emissions. This makes it one most important sectors to focus on reaching 1.5–2 °C target Paris Agreement, enhance security supply alleviate poverty. The European Union (EU) is often seen as a leader in climate governance, which also true efficiency. improvement performance buildings has been part EU public policy more than 50 years, making pioneer domain. Based semi-structured review scientific literature ( N = 90), this paper aimed at drawing lessons from research governance energy-efficient zero-carbon EU. As findings, there multitude instruments developed different levels or less integrated managed by actors no single instrument sufficient stimulate buildings. Five key challenges are identified examining transition towards efficiency An ambiguous leadership, heterogeneity implementation, lack incentives, limitations non-regulatory policies market-based instruments, limited diffusion between levels. We conclude that new problematic since greatest challenge renovation large existing stock.

A transition to sustainable energy will require not only technological diffusion and behavioral change, but also policy innovation. While research on transitions has generated an extensive literature, the extent which it used innovation perspective – entailing entrepreneurship or invention, diffusion, success remains unclear. This study analyzes over 8000 publications through a bibliometric review computational text analysis create overview of scholarship, map conceptual engagement with public policy, identify use lens in literature. We find that: (i) though importance is frequently highlighted research, itself analyzed occasionally; (ii) studies focusing have primarily engaged concepts mixes, process; (iii) notions are hardly employed understand sources, speed, spread, successes transitions. conclude that value for untapped propose avenues scholars harness this potential.
