Herein, 16 traditional and 13 novel organophosphate esters (OPEs) in skin wipes, personal PM2.5, sputum, nails (fingernails toenails) 7 OPE metabolites urine synchronously obtained from 64 college students were analyzed. Similar compositional profiles of the OPEs found wipes PM2.5 induced sputum. Significant correlations observed between concentrations high-lipophilicity low-volatility high-volatility low-lipophilicity These results imply that fingernails toenails may mainly come external sources rather than internal exposure, human sputum can be used as indicators exposure to OPEs. A comparison daily doses shows more volatile compounds have higher inhalation bioavailability, which should considered improve accuracy assessments. According comprehensive assessment, dermal absorption a dominant pathway inhalation, best representative environmental matrix
