Heavy metals are harmful environmental pollutants that have attracted widespread attention due to their health hazards human cardiovascular disease. metals, including lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic, and chromium, found in various sources such as air, water, soil, food, industrial products. Recent research strongly suggests a connection between disease exposure toxic heavy metals. Epidemiological, basic, clinical studies revealed can promote the production of reactive oxygen species, which then exacerbate species generation induce inflammation, resulting endothelial dysfunction, lipid metabolism distribution, disruption ion homeostasis, epigenetic changes. Over time, metal eventually results an increased risk hypertension, arrhythmia, atherosclerosis. Strengthening public prevention application chelation or antioxidants, vitamins beta-carotene, along with minerals, selenium zinc, diminish burden attributable exposure.

The effects of heavy metal exposure on immunological function have sparked widespread concern, but unequivocal evidence the association between mixed and novel systemic inflammatory indexes remains scarce. This study aimed to analyze associations metals with two inflammation mediated serum albumin. Nineteen were detected among 4082 U.S. adults based NHANES. A linear regression, restricted cubic splines (RCS) weighted quantile sum (WQS), Quantile-based Gcomputation (qgcomp), Bayesian kernel machine regression (BKMR) conducted evaluate single immune-inflammation index (SII) response (SIRI) levels, respectively. series subgroup analyses used identify potentially vulnerable populations. Furthermore, we mediation investigate albumin SII SIRI. In single-exposure model, various such as urinary Co, As, Zn, Cu was associated SIRI (PFDR<0.05). Simultaneously, above positively correlated Mixed-exposure consistently showed that overall levels pertinent for Co played a significant role in mixtures. Subgroup Cd men elderly people increased levels. results suggested mixture by albumin, proportion 14.45% 9.49%, Our findings is strongly system is, part, mediator this association.

BACKGROUND: Exposure to metals has been associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD) end points and mortality, yet prospective evidence is limited beyond arsenic, cadmium, lead. In this study, we assessed the association of urinary incident CVD all-cause mortality in a racially diverse population US adults from MESA (the Multi-Ethnic Study Atherosclerosis). METHODS: We included 6599 participants (mean [SD] age, 62.1 [10.2] years; 53% female) available at baseline (2000 2001) followed through December 2019. used Cox proportional hazards models estimate adjusted hazard ratio 95% CI by levels tungsten, uranium (nonessential metals), cobalt, copper, zinc (essential metals). The joint 6 as mixture corresponding 10-year survival probability was calculated using Elastic-Net. RESULTS: During follow-up, 1162 developed CVD, 1844 died. behavioral clinical indicators, ratios (95% CI) for comparing highest lowest quartile were, respectively: 1.25 (1.03, 1.53) 1.68 (1.43, 1.96) cadmium; 1.20 (1.01, 1.42) 1.16 1.33) tungsten; 1.32 (1.08, 1.62) (1.12, 1.56) uranium; 1.24 1.48) 1.37 (1.19, 1.58) cobalt; 1.42 (1.18, 1.70) 1.50 (1.29, 1.74) copper; 1.21 1.45) 1.38 (1.20, 1.59) zinc. A positive linear dose-response identified cadmium copper both points. an interquartile range (IQR) increase these difference were 1.29 (1.11, –1.1% (–2.0, –0.05) 1.66 (1.47, 1.91) –2.0% (–2.6, –1.5) mortality. CONCLUSIONS: This epidemiological study indicates that metal are increased risk These findings can inform development novel preventive strategies improve health.

Abstract There is an increasing concern about the health effects of exposure to a mixture pollutants. This study aimed evaluate associations between serum levels heavy/essential metals ([Arsenic (As), Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg), Lead (Pb), Nickel (Ni), Chromium (Cr), Copper (Cu), Iron (Fe), and Zinc (Zn)]) risk developing cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D). Data were collected from 450 participants (150 with CVDs, 150 T2D, healthy subjects) randomly selected Ravansar Non-Communicable Disease (RaNCD) cohort in Western Iran, covering years 2018–2023. Trace element samples assayed using ICP-MS. Logistic regression was performed estimate adjusted single multi-metals CVD/T2D. Odds ratios for age, sex, education, residential areas, hypertension, BMI. The effect CVD/T2D obtained Quantile G-computation (QGC). In logistic model, chromium, nickel, zinc associated CVD, significant trends observed these chemical quartiles ( P < 0.001). Arsenic, copper also T2D. weight quartile sum (WQS) index significantly both CVD OR 4.17, 95% CI 2.16–7.69) T2D 11.96, 5.65–18.26). Cd, Pb, Ni most heavily weighed chemicals models. The Cd had highest among model (weighted at 0.78), followed by Hg weighted 0.197. For Pb 0.32), 0.19), Cr 0.17), 0.14) model. results showed role toxic essential elements CVDs risk. association may be driven primarily cadmium mercury Ni, Cr, respectively. Prospective studies higher sample sizes are necessary confirm or refute our preliminary as well determine other important elements.

The association between the exposure of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) and serum uric acid (UA) levels remained uncertain. In this study, to investigate combined effects OCP mixtures on hyperuricemia, we analyzed OCPs UA in adults from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (2005–2016). Four statistical models including weighted logistic regression, Weighted Quantile Sum (WQS), g-computation (QGC), Bayesian Kernel Machine Regression (BKMR) were used assess relationship mixed chemical exposures hyperuricemia. Subgroup analyses conducted explore potential modifiers. Among 6,529 participants, prevalence hyperuricemia was 21.15%. Logistic regression revealed a significant both hexachlorobenzene (HCB) trans-nonachlor fifth quintile (OR: 1.54, 95% CI: 1.08–2.19; OR: 1.58, 1.05–2.39, respectively), utilizing first as reference. WQS QGC showed overall with an OR 1.25 (95% 1.09–1.44) 1.20 1.06–1.37), respectively. BKMR indicated positive trend HCB having largest weight all three mixture analyses. that females, individuals aged 50 years above, those low income more vulnerable exposure. These results highlight urgent need protect populations properly evaluate health multiple using mutual validation approaches.
