Eutrophication of lakes exhibits a more serious trend in global scale under the climate change. Eutrophic also exhibit unique role carbon, yet, data on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from these eutrophic are too scarce to accurately upscale CO2 for large or estimation. Eutrophication is prevalent in urban lakes; however, a knowledge gap exists regarding eutrophication influences on carbon dynamics these ecosystems. In the present study, we investigated dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) concentration diffusion fluxes Lake Tangxun (the largest shallow Chinese lake) autumn winter of 2022 spring summer 2023. We found that served as source GHGs, with average emission rates 5.52 ± 12.16 mmol CO2 m−2 d−1 0.83 2.81 CH4 d−1, respectively. The partial pressure dissolved (pCO2) (averaging 1321.39 1614.63 μatm) (dCH4) 4.29 13.71 μmol L−1) exceeded saturation levels. Seasonal variability was observed pCO2 dCH4 well fluxes, while flux remained constant. mean dCH4, emissions, were generally higher spring. levels significantly related to total nitrogen (TN), phosphorus (TP), ammonium-nitrogen (N-NH4+), N-NH4+ main influencing factor eutrophic lakes. positive relationships pCO2, trophic state index highlighted could elevate emissions from lake. This study highlights fact can increase lakes are substantial contributors global budget.
