Background Frailty is a significant concern in the field of public health. However, currently, there lack widely recognized and reliable biological markers for frailty. This study aims to investigate association between systemic inflammatory biomarkers frailty older adult population United States. Methods employed data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) spanning 2007 2018 conducted rigorous cross-sectional analysis. We constructed weighted logistic regression models explore correlation Systemic Immune-Inflammation Index (SII), Inflammatory Response (SIRI), aged 40 80 years. Using restricted cubic spline (RCS), we successfully visualized relationship SII, SIRI, Finally, presented stratified analyses interaction tests covariates forest plot. Results involved 11,234 participants, 45.95% male 54.05% female, with an average age 64.75 ± 0.13 After adjusting relevant covariates, model indicated odds ratio (OR) 95% confidence interval(CI) natural logarithm (ln) transformed lnSII lnSIRI as 1.38 (1.24–1.54) 1.69 (1.53–1.88), respectively. Subsequently, assessed different levels lnSIRI, finding consistent results. In group model, likelihood significantly increased fourth quartile (OR = 1.82, CI: 1.55–2.12) compared second quartile. third 1.30, 1.10–1.53) 2.29, 1.95–2.70) The results indicate that income-to-poverty influence RCS demonstrated nonlinear lnSII, Conclusion this positive (SII, SIRI)

Objective This study investigates the correlation between Life’s Essential 8 (LE8), a cardiovascular health (CVH) metric, and frailty in middle-aged elderly individuals United States, also examining how depression mediates this relationship. Methods Participants from NHANES 2005-2018 were analyzed for correlations LE8 frailty, along with combined effects of using multiple logistic regression. Dose-response relationships assessed restricted cubic splines (RCS), mediation analysis explored depression’s role. Sensitivity subgroup analyses conducted result stability. Results The included 8,982 participants, 3,103 events. A higher score was significantly associated reduced risk adjusted odds ratios medium high CVH groups at 0.49 (95% CI: 0.40-0.58, p < 0.001) 0.21 0.13-0.33, 0.001), respectively. RCS model showed negative dose-response No significant association found depressed population, where mediated 32.13% Conclusion Maintaining good health, as measured by LE8, is key to reducing individuals. underscores importance assessments targeted programs improve quality life.

Background Both frailty and elevated serum neurofilament light chain (sNfL) levels are linked to cognitive impairment. However, evidence of their relationship is lacking, whether it was mediated by renal function unknown. This study aimed investigate the association between sNfL in a representative U.S. population, explore potential mediating role estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) this relationship. Methods Data from 1,782 participants aged 20–75 years 2013–2014 National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) were analyzed. Frailty assessed using 49-item index, categorized as non-frail, pre-frail, or frail. measured acoustic emission technology. Multivariable linear regression models restricted cubic spline analyses employed examine associations frailty, eGFR, levels. Mediation analysis conducted evaluate eGFR frailty-sNfL Results The prevalence pre-frailty 45.39 11.60%, respectively. A significant positive observed score (adjusted β : 39.97, SE: 11.07, p = 0.003), with confirmed analysis. Frail individuals had significantly higher compared non-frail 11.86, 5.42, 0.04). negatively associated β: -0.23, 0.05, < 0.001). revealed that accounted for 12.52% total effect on ( 0.0001). Conclusion demonstrates partially These findings suggest may serve biomarker frailty-related neuronal damage highlight importance kidney association. Some studies have found that high dietary inflammatory index (DII) increases stroke risk, but previous mostly been conducted in the general population, and exact relationship between DII patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is not clear. This cross-sectional study utilized data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (2009-2016) to investigate association stroke. was computed according established methods. Participants were categorized into tertiles of (Q1-Q3). Multivariate weighted logistic regression analysis, smooth curve fitting, subgroup analysis employed explore this relationship. Subgroup analyses based on demographic clinical variables. A total 2426 individuals enrolled our study. The overall prevalence population 4.66%. fitting indicated a J-shaped among MASLD. In multivariate odds ratio (OR) 1.17 (95% CI: 1.03-1.38) for stroke, turning point 1.89. After point, OR CI) 1.22 (1.08-2.56). still increased risk independently. Our highlighted adults MASLD USA.
