Hemp is known for its swift growth and remarkable sustainability, requiring significantly less water, an adaptable cultivation to a wide range of climates when compared other fibers sources, making it practical environmentally friendly choice packaging materials. The current research seeks extract cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) from hemp using alkali treatment followed by acid hydrolysis assess their reinforcing capacity in polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) chitosan (CS) films. AFM analysis confirmed the existence elongated, uniquely nanosized CNC fibers. length isolated CNCs was approximately 277.76 ± 61 nm, diameter 6.38 1.27 nm aspect ratio 44.69 11.08. FTIR SEM indicated successful removal non-cellulosic compounds. Furthermore, study explored impact adding at varying weight percentages (0, 0.5, 1, 2.5, 5 wt%) as strengthening agent on chemical composition, structure, tensile characteristics, transparency, water solubility bionanocomposite Adding CS/PVA film, up wt%, resulted improvement both Young's modulus strength which are measured (412.46 10.49 MPa) (18.60 3.42 MPa), respectively, contrast control films with values (202.32 22.50 (13.72 2.61 respectively. scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images reveal creation CS/PVA/CNC film that appears smooth, no signs clumping or clustering. blending introduction have yielded transparent biodegradable This incorporation has led reduction gas transmission rate (from 7.013 4.159 cm3 (m2 day·0.1 MPa))-1, decrease transparency 90.23% 82.47%), lowered 48% 33%). inaugural effort propose utilization hemp-derived component development mechanically robust CS/PVA-CNC bio-nanocomposite films, holding substantial potential application field food packaging.

There is a great demand to replace non-renewable materials with eco-friendly renewable for many applications in recent times. In the present study, such an attempt was made substitute synthetic polymer-based films used food packaging prepared out of derived from waste. The pectin/polyvinyl alcohol (PP) and pectin-MgO/polyvinyl (PMP) were characterized ascertain their suitability applications. To improve mechanical strength thermal stability films, MgO nanoparticles incorporated situ into polymer matrix. pectin study extracted citrus fruit peel. nanocomposite evaluated physico-mechanical properties, water contact angle, stability, crystallinity, morphology, compositional purity biodegradability. elongation at break PP film 42.24% PMP it 39.18%. Also, ultimate modulus terms MPa 6.8 7.9. So, found that have better ductility than due presence nanoparticles. spectral studies confirmed films. biodegradation revealed both could be degraded ambient conditions appreciable time span, suggesting them choice as environmentally friendly material.
