Dates are the fruits of date palm belonging to Arecaceae family; they comprise over 2500 species and 200 genera constitute an essential part daily diet worldwide, with beneficial nutritional, health, economic values. Several varieties (Phoenix dactylifera) fruit exist globally, especially in hot humid regions. This review is overview palms as a significant global food resource, including their historical significance, nutritional composition, cultivation practices, importance, health benefits. The journey dates goes back ancient civilizations where were revered for richness nutrients natural sweetness. Today, vital crop arid regions, contributing substantially agricultural economy livelihoods communities. paper further explores techniques employed enhance production. Furthermore, composition analyzed detail, highlighting high content vitamins, minerals, dietary fibers, antioxidants. These attributes make delicious treat valuable component, offering numerous potential effects, improved digestion, enhanced cardiovascular increased energy levels, discussed. Additionally, this delves into significance industry its trade.

The renewable, abundant , and low-cost nature of lignocellulosic biomass can play an important role in the sustainable production bioenergy several added-value bioproducts, thus providing alternative solutions to counteract global energetic industrial demands. efficient conversion greatly relies on catalytic activity carbohydrate-active enzymes (CAZymes). Finding novel robust biocatalysts, capable being active under harsh conditions, is imperative achieve economically feasible process. In this study, thermophilic compost samples from three Portuguese companies were collected, their metagenomic DNA was extracted sequenced through shotgun sequencing. A multi-step bioinformatic pipeline developed find CAZymes characterize taxonomic functional profiles microbial communities, using both reads metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs) as input. samples' microbiome dominated by bacteria, where classes Gammaproteobacteria, Alphaproteobacteria, Balneolia stood out for higher abundance, indicating that degradation mainly driven bacterial enzymatic activity. Furthermore, studies revealed our are a rich reservoir glycoside hydrolases (GH), particularly GH5 GH9 cellulases, GH3 oligosaccharide-degrading enzymes. We further constructed fosmid libraries with demonstrated great number clones exhibited β-glucosidase comparison others literature showed that, independently composition process composting excellent source lignocellulose-degrading To best knowledge, first comparative study CAZyme abundance taxonomic/functional samples. KEY POINTS: • Sequence- function-based metagenomics used Thermophilic composts proved be GH3, GH5, Compost-derived enriched
