Curcumin could inhibit periprosthetic osteolysis induced by wear debris and adherent endotoxin, which commonly cause prosthesis loosening negatively influence the long-term survival of joint arthroplasty. However, its limited water solubility poor stability pose challenges for further clinical application. To address these issues, we developed curcumin liposomes intraarticular injection, as possess good lubricant capacity pharmacological synergy with curcumin. Additionally, a nanocrystal dosage form was prepared to enable comparison based on their ability disperse effectively. A microfluidic method used controllability, repeatability, scalability. The Box-Behnken Design employed screen formulations flow parameters, while computational fluid dynamics simulate mixing process predict formation liposomes. optimized (Cur-LPs) had size 132.9 nm an encapsulation efficiency 97.1%, whereas nanocrystals (Cur-NCs) 172.3 nm. Both Cur-LPs Cur-NCs inhibited LPS-induced pro-inflammatory polarization macrophages reduced expression secretion inflammatory factors. mouse air pouch model demonstrated that both forms attenuated cell infiltration fibrosis in subcutaneous tissues. Interestingly, anti-inflammatory effect more potent than Cur-NCs, vitro vivo, although cellular uptake quicker. In conclusion, results demonstrate have great potential treatment therapeutic is closely related liposomal form.

The traditional lipid preparation methods are complex, time-consuming, and consume a large amount of reagents, increasing costs difficulties. Although microfluidic technology is considered promising solution, achieving controllable liposome production with simple inexpensive mixing device remains an important problem. This paper presents wall-type micro-mixer based on coastal zone fractals. Four parameters related to the geometric shape coastline fractal in microchannel used as design variables, index objective function. Single-objective optimization numerical analysis primary baffle micromixer under four Reynolds numbers conditions yields optimal structural configuration. Visualization experiments verify correctness accuracy simulation, optimized mixer produce liposomes. results show that double-sidewall cross arrangement enhances chaotic convection improves efficiency. At Re = 0.1 100, efficiency reaches 99%, 50.44% higher than reference design. Current anticancer research shows that a combination of multiple treatment methods can greatly improve the killing tumor cells. Using latest microfluidic swirl mixer technology, combined with chemotherapy and photothermal-ablation therapy, we developed multiresponsive targeted antitumor nanoparticles (NPs) made folate-functionalized gelatin NPs under 200 nm in size encapsulated CuS NPs, Fe3O4 curcumin (Cur). By exploring gelatin's structure, adjusting its concentration pH, fine-tuning fluid dynamics device, best preparation conditions were obtained for an average particle 90 ± 7 nm. The comparative targeting drug delivery system (DDS) was demonstrated on lung adenocarcinoma A549 cells (low level folate receptors) breast MCF-7 (high receptors). Folic acid helps achieve accurate to synergistic photothermal ablation curcumin's activity are achieved through infrared light irradiation (980 nm), while is guided external magnetic field target accelerate uptake drugs, thus efficiently method described this work simple, easy repeat, has great potential be scaled up industrial production subsequent clinical use.
