Hydrazone-linked covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with structural flexibility, heteroatomic sites, post-modification ability and high hydrolytic stability have attracted great attention from scientific community. COFs, as a subclass of Schiff-base was firstly reported in 2011 by Yaghi's group later witnessed prosperous development various aspects. Their adjustable structures, precise pore channels plentiful sites hydrazone-linked structures possess much potential diverse applications, for example, adsorption/separation, chemical sensing, catalysis energy storage, etc. Up to date, the systematic reviews about COFs are still rare. Therefore, this review, we will summarize their preparation methods, characteristics related discuss opportunity or challenge COFs. We hope review could provide new insights exploring more appealing functions applications.

The rapid worldwide industrial growth in recent years has made water contamination by heavy metals a problem that requires an immediate solution. Several strategies have been proposed for the decontamination of wastewater terms metal ions. Among these, methods utilizing adsorbent materials are preferred due to their cost-effectiveness, simplicity, effectiveness, and scalability treating large volumes contaminated water. In this context, removal hydrogels based on naturally occurring polymers is attractive approach remediation as they offer significant advantages, such optimal safety profile, good biodegradability, simple low-cost procedures preparation. Hydrogels ability absorb water, allowing effective dissolved pollutants. Furthermore, can undergo surface chemical modifications which further improve retain different environmental This review aims summarize advances application treatment metal-contaminated wastewater, particularly focusing cellulose derivatives. reported studies highlight how adsorption properties these be widely modified, with wide range capacity ions varying between 2.3 2240 mg/g. possibility developing new improved sorption performances also discussed review, aim improving real scenarios, indicating future directions field.
