Corn is the second most cultivated crop in Brazil, number-one country pesticide consumption. Chemical control of weeds performed using herbicides such as S-metolachlor with pre- and post-emergence action thus toxicity constitutes a matter great concern. The present investigation aimed to examine effects an S-metolachlor-based herbicide on Lactuca sativa L. (lettuce) Zea mays (maize) utilizing various bioassays. test solutions were prepared from commercial products containing active ingredient. Seeds plant models exposed petri dishes maintained under biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) at 24°C. Distilled water was negative aluminium positive control. Macroscopic analyses (germination growth) conducted for both species, microscopic analysis (cell cycle chromosomal alterations) root tip cells. Detrimental interference noted lettuce all parameters tested reducing germination by over 50% speed 45% showing significant decrease mitotic index, 16.25% 9,28% even lowest concentration tested. In maize, there no germination; however, significantly hampered, reaching 51.22% reduction highest Data demonstrated that toxic evidenced its phyto- cytotoxicity Z.

Melanoma is the most aggressive type of skin cancer, with few therapeutic alternatives following metastasis development. In recent years, drug delivery-associated nanotechnology has shown promising targeted results diminished adverse effects compared to conventional treatments. This study aimed (1) examine plant-derived α-arbutin, a natural compound and (2) compare these findings bioactively developed liposomes containing α-arbutin utilizing B16-F10 murine melanoma cell line as model. Liposomes were obtained through reversed-phase evaporation by applying spray dryer assess their stability. The biologic assays measured cytotoxicity/antiproliferative (MTT, Neutral Red, dsDNA PicoGreen). addition, levels melanin purinergic enzymes also measured. production reactive oxygen species (ROS) nitric oxide (NO) was determined measure oxidative state. Treatment nano-liposome alpha-arbutin induced significant 68.4% cytotoxicity, similar positive control, in at 72 hr. Further, arbutin increased ROS nitrite formation hr highest concentration (100 300 µg/ml) Arbutin reduced all tested concentrations. lowered nucleotides (AMP, ADP, ATP) nucleoside (adenosine) cells. Evidence suggests that liposome can be considered an alternative immunosuppressive agent stimulated treatment.

Removal of accumulated dyes from the environment water bodies is essential to prevent further harm humans. The development and design new alternative nanoadsorbents that can conveniently, quickly, efficiently improve adsorption removal efficiency wastewater remains a huge challenge. An amorphous TiO2 with magnetic core-shell-shell structure (Fe3O4@PDA@a-TiO2, denoted as FPaT) was constructed through series steps. studies on formation mechanism FPaT indicated reaction temperature most important parameter affecting crystal structure. To analyze properties core, shell, surface (size morphology, elemental composition, functional groups, structure, properties, etc.) FPaT, various analytical techniques including scanning electronic microscopy (SEM), transmission electron (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) were utilized characterize it. Based unique physicochemical its surface, applied highly adsorb methylene blue (MB) simulated wastewater. Furthermore, batch experiments towards MB performed assess high ability reusability prepared FPaT. Using 4.5 mg solution an initial concentration 10 mg/L (pH = 8.2), 97% rate achieved within 30 min. Compared previously reported values other absorbent materials, maximum capacity (313.7 mg/g) much higher. equilibrium adsorptions kinetic data better depicted by Langmuir isothermal model (R2 0.943) second-order 0.999), respectively. In conclusion, this work indicates novel adsorbent, has good application prospects for removing actual dye

This study aimed to identify chemical compounds derived from Vassobia breviflora methanolic extract using ESI-ToF-MS and their antioxidant potential activity utilizing the following methods: total phenols, DPPH, ABTS•+. The MTT assay measured cytotoxic activity, while DCFH-DA nitric oxide assays were employed determine reactive oxygen species (ROS) nitrogen (RNS) levels African green monkey kidney (VERO) human keratinocyte (HaCat) cell lines. minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) bactericidal (MBC) assessed in seven clinical isolates nine ATCC strains. Biofilm inhibition was tested against four biofilm-forming properties of identified as follows: 35.74 mg GAE/g (gallic acid equivalents)/g for 10.5 µg/ml 50.68 µmol trolox/µg mean (IC50) values 622.86 784.33 (HaCat). These concentrations did not markedly alter ROS RNS. Conversely, Bacillus cereus β-hemolytic displayed higher sensitivity extract, with MIC 64 MBC 128 µg/ml. Enterococcus faecium exhibited lowest biofilm formation among bacteria. studied plant all bacterial strains at lower than IC50 VERO HaCat cells, suggesting future studies. Data present a comprehensive molecular docking analysis HlyIIR protein (PDB ID: 2FX0) determined antimicrobial endocrine-modulating potentials. Notably, lancifodilactone I nicandrin B demonstrated strongest binding affinities, energies -9.8 kcal/mol -8.3 kcal/mol, respectively, significant effects B. cereus. In addition, several showed interactions nuclear receptors, indicating effects. findings provide insights into developing target-specific therapies agents.
