Adopting ecological agricultural technologies (EATs) is an effective way to guarantee food security and protect the environment. With advancement of digital village strategy, continuous integration economy with rural has gradually become emerging driving force for sustainable agriculture. However, few studies have examined impact farmers' participation in different links industry chain on EATs adoption from a micro perspective. Using data 2,825 grain farmers 2020 China Rural Revitalization Survey, this paper applies treatment effect model mediating empirically analyze mechanism This characterizes terms production, sales, finance. The results show that significantly promotes adoption. sub-dimensional test found finance above findings remain robust after series robustness tests, such as changing estimation method replacing dependent variable. Mechanism analysis shows economy, especially sales finance, could promote by increasing demand machinery services, improving information availability, enhancing safety cognition; production services. Results heterogeneity promotion more substantial among higher literacy larger cultivated land scales. provide insights other countries effectively use technology agriculture under pressure achieving development goals.

Abstract This special issue contributes to the development economics literature by highlighting role of information communication and technologies (ICTs) in supporting rural agricultural development. It is comprised nine papers. Key findings from this include: (1) internet use increases consumption diversity productivity; (2) smartphone empowers women household decision‐making off‐farm work participation; (3) smartphone‐based extension services boost income growth; (4) a lack ICT infrastructure inadequate skills digital are two key factors that lead poverty traps for smallholder farmers; (5) adoption probability households' access credit farm households relatively less developed regions credit; (6) financial inclusion reduces farmers' vulnerability poverty; (7) e‐commerce both sales prices marketing costs, but magnitude increasing former higher than latter, which finally gross return. also proposes practical instruments implications advancing application ICTs areas accelerate age.

E-commerce, as a prominent feature of the digital economy era, is highly expected to promote economic growth and sustainable development. Based on 2020 “China Rural Revitalization Survey” data, this study empirically analyzed impact mechanism literacy discrepancy between willingness behavior farmers in e-commerce sales.
