A total hip arthroplasty (THA) can improve quality of life, but loosening the prosthesis is a complex problem in which vitamin D may also play role. The Vitamin Receptor (VDR) involved response cells to action D, and its genetic variability raises question whether individual differences could influence risk loosening. aim this study was investigate relationship between VDR single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) (ApaI, BsmI, FokI TaqI) serum 25(OH)D levels three groups patients: (1) arthroscopy patients after THA without (CA—Control Arthroplasty), (2) with loosened prostheses (L—Loosening) (3) control group (C—Control). Our results suggest that genotypes tt TaqI, BB FF effect protheses. showed ACAC haplotype (AtBF) over two times more frequent L than CA + C: OR =2.35 [95% CI 1.44–3.83; p = 0.001]. There no significant correlation levels, there were studied groups.

Significant advancements have been made in cancer therapy; however, limitations remain with some conventional approaches. Adjuvants are agents used alongside primary treatments to enhance their efficacy and the treatment outcomes of patients. Modern lifestyles contribute deficiencies melatonin vitamin D. Limited sun exposure affects D synthesis, artificial light at night suppresses production. Both possess anti‑inflammatory, immune‑boosting anticancer properties, rendering them potential adjuvants interest. Studies suggest supplementation may address antioxidant imbalances lip, oral pharyngeal cancers. Moreover, promising results from breast, head neck, brain, osteosarcoma research indicate for tumor growth inhibition, improved survival, a better quality life patients cancer. The radioprotective properties another exciting area exploration, potentially enhancing radiotherapy effectiveness while reducing side effects. For its part, sleep‑promoting effects indirectly benefit by influencing immune system. Thus, prevalence highlights importance supplementation, as lower levels can worsen side‑effects treatments. present review explores combining synergistic therapy. These shown promise individually prevention treatment, combined warrant investigation. ABSTRACT Background and Aims This study investigates the global impact of ambient ultraviolet radiation (UVR) on dementia incidence, addressing its controversial association with risk. UVR, through both vitamin D‐dependent independent mechanisms, influences physiological processes essential for brain health, such as reducing neuroinflammation, improving sleep regulation, enhancing neuroplasticity. aims to clarify relationship between UVR incidence evaluate role in public health strategies prevention. Methods An ecological analysis across 204 countries was conducted using country‐specific data levels rates. Bivariate analysis, partial correlation, multiple linear regression models were employed assess incidence. Confounding factors, including aging, economic affluence, genetic predisposition, urbanization, controlled ensure robust results. Subgroup analyses performed explore differences income classifications, regional groupings, developmental statuses, based World Bank United Nations criteria. Results A significant inverse correlation identified ( r = −0.764, p < 0.001), which persisted after adjusting confounding factors. emerged strongest predictor explaining a substantial portion variance, followed by aging second predictor. revealed that protective effects particularly pronounced developing countries, where limited access D supplementation, combined greater exposure natural sunlight may enhance influence. Conclusion Lower are associated higher rates worldwide, suggesting critical mitigating Public should consider environmental factors like regions sunlight.
