Near-infrared phosphor-converted light-emitting diodes (NIR pc-LEDs) as a new NIR light source has outstanding application potential in the fields of spectroscopy analysis, sensing, imaging, and pattern recognition. Therefore, development phosphors with good luminescence thermal stability attracted much attention. To this end, we developed LiAlO2:Cr3+ garnet-type by high-temperature solid-state reaction method. Under 405 nm excitation, Cr3+ ions located tetrahedrons LiAlO2 emit emission broadband that covers 650-900 mixed several sharp narrowband R-line emissions, which showed excellent integrated intensity measured at 573 K is ∼90.86% 303 caused structural rigidity low expansion coefficient matrix material. An pc-LED device assembled optimized commercially available purple LED chip emitted output power ∼98.172 mW driving current 300 mA demonstrated an electro-optical conversion efficiency ∼9.09%, while it night vision monitoring biomedical imaging.

Abstract Near‐infrared mechanoluminescent (NIR ML) materials have attracted attention due to their advantages, such as in situ and real‐time monitoring of biomechanical information vivo. However, most ML are focused on the UV–vis light range, which limits potential applications biological field. In this work, a broadband NIR material Ca 2 YGa 3 Ge O 12 : 0.10Cr 3+ (CYGGG: ) is successfully prepared by chemical co‐substitution Cr heavy doping. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations used determine type defects material, composite formed interstitial oxygen (i ′′) antisite (Ca Y ′ ‐ °) mostly dominate ML. ions act electronic bridges regulate energy levels, becoming key turning Nd ion's Finally, based excellent properties CYGGG: , 0.01Nd composites can penetrate pork tissues different compositions/thicknesses under stress loads. Potentially, work tries realize tissue imaging, providing new way for application materials.
