Abstract
Research
suggests
that
a
disproportionate
number
of
female
individuals
being
treated
for
an
eating
disorder
(ED)
also
have
autism
spectrum
(ASD).
Alexithymia,
or
difficulty
identifying
and
describing
emotions,
may
mediate
the
relationship
between
ED
ASD.
In
this
study,
we
explored
association
autistic
traits
with
symptoms
alexithymia
pathology,
as
well
potential
mediating
role
alexithymia.
Two
hundred
twenty‐eight
participants
aged
18
older
were
recruited
from
online
support
platforms
to
complete
anonymous
survey
via
Qualtrics.

neurological
disorder
(FND)

two
complex
neuropsychiatric
conditions
that
have
been
historically
classified
within
psychiatric
domains,

lack

extensive
research,

clinical
recognition,
persistent
societal
stigma.

recognition
among
professionals

on

Scientific
evidence
indicates

acknowledged
