Inherited retinal degenerations (IRDs) constitute a group of clinically and genetically diverse vision-impairing disorders. Retinitis pigmentosa (RP), the most common form IRD, is characterized by gradual dysfunction degeneration rod photoreceptors, followed loss cone photoreceptors.
