Lianhuaqingwen (LHQW) capsule, a herb medicine product, has been clinically proved to be effective in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pneumonia treatment. However, human exposure LHQW components and their pharmacological effects remain largely unknown. Hence, this study aimed determine anti-COVID-19 activities. Analysis of component profiles plasma urine after repeated therapeutic dosing was conducted using combination HRMS an untargeted data-mining approach, leading detection 132 prototype metabolite components, which were absorbed via the gastrointestinal tract formed biotransformation human, respectively. Together with data from screening by comprehensive 2D angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) biochromatography, 8 that exposed had potential ACE2 targeting ability identified for further pharmacodynamic evaluation. Results show rhein, forsythoside A, I, neochlorogenic acid its isomers exhibited high inhibitory effect on ACE2. For first time, provides chemical biochemical evidence exploring molecular mechanisms capsule treatment COVID-19 patients based human. It also demonstrates utility exposure-based approach identify pharmaceutically active Chinese medicines.

Coronaviruses (CoVs), a family of enveloped positive-sense RNA viruses, are characterized by club-like spikes that project from their surface, unusually large genome, and unique replication capability. CoVs known to cause various potentially lethal human respiratory infectious diseases, such as severe acute syndrome (SARS), Middle East (MERS), the very recent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak. Unfortunately, neither drug nor vaccine has yet been approved date prevent treat these diseases caused CoVs. Therefore, effective prevention treatment medications against in urgent need. In past decades, many natural compounds have reported possess multiple biological activities, including antiviral properties. this article, we provided comprehensive review on interfere with life cycles SARS MERS, discussed potential use for COVID-19.

COVID-19, a disease induced by SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2) has already shown state of true pandemic circumstances in the present world. Though extensive research works are being reported recent days for development effective therapeutics against this global health crisis, still, there is no approved therapy SARS-CoV-2. In study, plant synthesized secondary metabolites (PSMs) have been prioritized to make review focusing on efficacy originated treatment COVID-19. Plant exhibit as source countless medicinal compounds while diversity multidimensional chemical structures made them superior treat serious diseases. Those promising alternative medicines and lead drug repurposing discovery. The versatility may provide novel antibiotics tackle MDR (Multi-Drug Resistant) microbes too. This attempted find out having therapeutic potentials wide range viral pathogens. study includes search remedies belonging families, susceptible candidates, antiviral assay, mode action; attempt collection enormous natural that might be suggested About 219 plants from 83 families were found activity. Among them, 149 71 screened identification major at situation. Our investigation revealed proposed can serve potential anti- molecules further optimization process combat COVID-19 future pandemics caused viruses. will stimulate analysis scientific community boost plant-based followed designing.

COVID-19, an infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has spread throughout the world. China achieved rapid containment of this highly following principles early detection, quarantine and treatment with integrated traditional Chinese Western medicine. The inclusion medicine (TCM) in protocol is based on its successful historic experience fighting against pestilence. Current findings have shown that can reduce incidence or critical events, improve clinical recovery help alleviate symptoms such as cough fever. To date there are over 133 ongoing registered studies TCM/integrated three patent medicines (Lianhua Qingwen Keli/Jiaonang (Forsythiae Honeysuckle Flower Pestilence-Clearing Granules/Capsules), Jinhua Qinggan Keli (Honeysuckle Cold-Relieving Granules) Xuebijing (Stasis-Resolving & Toxin-Removing) Injection were officially approved National Medical Products Administration to list COVID-19 additional indication. pharmacological suggested effective for probably through host-directed regulation certain antiviral effects.
