Glycosylation plays a very important role in plant secondary metabolic modifications. Neodiosmin, identified as diosmetin-7-O-neohesperidoside, not only acts to mitigate bitterness and enhance the flavor of food but also serves pivotal metabolite that reinforces immunity. Investigating its biosynthetic pathway plants is crucial for optimizing fruit quality fortifying immune responses. In this study, through analysis transcriptomic data from Astilbe chinensis, we two novel uridine diphosphate (UDP)-glycosyltransferases (UGTs): Ach14791 (AcUGT73C18), responsible flavonoid 7-O-glycosylation Ach15849 (AcUGT79B37), involved flavonoid-7-O-glucoside-2″-O-rhamnosylation. By delving into enzymatic properties catalytic promiscuity, developed biosynthesis route neodiosmin by establishing one-pot enzyme-catalyzed cascade reaction. Simultaneously, lonicerin rhoifolin were successfully synthesized using same dual-enzyme Taken together, our findings UGTs provided biocatalytic components microorganism-based flavonoid-7-O-disaccharide compounds.

Naringin is one of the common flavonoids in grapefruit, which has anti-cancer, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory activities. However, its poor solubility limits wide application. Therefore, aim this study to investigate effect naringin combined with chitooligosaccharides good biocompatibility by constructing a mouse model systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS). The results showed that naringin-chitooligosaccharide (NG-COS) complex significantly inhibited lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced weight loss, reduced food intake, tissue infiltration, proinflammatory cytokines IL-6, TNF-α, INF-γ, IL-1β levels. also affected content malondialdehyde activities MPO, SOD, GSH liver, spleen, lungs, serum mice inflammation. In addition, NG-COS mRNA expression factors TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway. Principal component analysis complexes could inhibit LPS-induced inflammation mice, was better than alone. This explored synergistic effects chitosan reducing contribute development novel biomedical interventions.

Chronic and excessive alcohol consumption induces alcohol-related liver injury (ALI), characterized by oxidative stress (OS), disrupted lipid metabolism, gut microbiota dysbiosis. Given the lack of effective pharmacological treatments, flavonoid-rich fruits have attracted growing attention as potential intervention strategies. This study investigated independent combined effects extracts from Citri reticulatae pericarpium (CRPE) Chaenomeles speciosa (Sweet) Nakai (CSPE), previously shown to possess hepatoprotective properties, in a mouse model ethanol-induced chronic ALI. The flavonoid composition CRPE CSPE was using LC-MS/MS, their mechanisms action were further elucidated through transcriptomic analysis. results showed that CSPE, whether administered individually or combination, effectively alleviated alcohol-induced hepatic histological damage inflammatory responses. Furthermore, both significantly reduced OS improved metabolism. Notably, CRPE, combination regulated microbiota, increased abundances beneficial bacteria such Lactobacillus Bifidobacterium, along with elevated levels short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs). These findings highlight combinations multiple fruit exhibit significant alleviating ALI modulating providing valuable insights for development functional foods.
