Abstract Endophytic fungi establish mutualistic symbiotic relationships with plants, wherein their interactions facilitate the production of bioactive secondary metabolites by fungal cells. The objective this study is to examine antioxidative, anticancer, cytotoxic, and antiviral properties crude from endophytes Chaetomium laterale LC4146 interruptum CBS126660. Chromatographic separation metabolic main chemical identification were also addressed. Semi-purified extracts showed radical-inhibiting or 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl-radical-scavenging capabilities. ethyl acetate extract C . has highest inhibitory activity against human liver (HepG2), prostate (PC-3), colorectal (HCT-116) cancer cells interestingly shows low toxicity normal Vero African Green Monkey kidney Fungi exerted dose-dependent anticancer effects on three cell lines, observable alterations in shape morphology HepG2 under an inverted microscope. To test vitro anti- Herpes Simplex Virus type-1 (HSV-1) efficiency petroleum ether extracts, cytopathic effect inhibition was weak moderate. Phytochemical examination revealed phenolics, esters, alcohols, hydrocarbons. Hexanedioic acid, 2,4-ditert-butylphenol, 1,2-benzene dicarboxylic 1-hexadecanol are most successful chemicals. Since these unique components acceptable , two species may be a viable source natural products good starting point for medicinal applications.

Abstract Converting crop residues into biochar and subsequently incorporating it soils is a promising strategy to improve carbon sequestration in agroecosystems. However, differences the potential mechanisms for soil organic (SOC) accumulation between its feedstock materials remain unclear. This study performed nine-year field experiment involving four treatments Mollisol: mineral fertilizers alone combined with maize straw or biochar, control without amendments. The main objectives of this were assess how incorporation influence SOC content, chemical composition, microbial necromass (MNC) community characteristics. Compared alone, significantly ( P < 0.05) increased while (40.5% increase) had more pronounced effects than (23.7% increase). Similarly, both MNC content boosted biomass, but impact did biochar. Additionally, markedly aromaticity by 26.6% 0.05), reduced 2.85% > 0.05). Fungi, rather bacteria, played crucial role increasing through their inputs under incorporation. Our results demonstrated that enhanced primarily entombing effect necromass, biochemical protection from recalcitrant aromatic carbon. present findings provide valuable insight practices lead maximize sequestration. Seven new polyketides including three chromone derivatives (1-3) and four linear ones incorporating a tetrahydrofuran ring (4-7), along with known compounds (8-10), were obtained from the fermentation of an endophytic fungus (Chaetomium sp. UJN-EF006) isolated leaves Vaccinium bracteatum. The structures these fungal metabolites have been elucidated by spectroscopic means MS, NMR electronic circular dichroism. A preliminary anti-inflammatory screening lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induced RAW264.7 cell model revealed moderate NO production inhibitory activity for 1 4. In addition, expression LPS-induced inflammatory factors IL-6, iNOS COX-2 was also blocked

The present study was conducted to isolate and identify some fungi from vegetable crops Samples eight plants, namely Abelmoschus esculentus, Mentha piperita, Vicia faba, Petroselinum sativum, Ocimum basilicum, Lawsonia inermis, Beta vulgaris Apium graveolens were collected three regions Basrah (Abu Al-Khaseeb, Karmat Ali the Centre Basrah). Isolation done by solid culture method moist method. recovered purified axenic cultures each isolated then identified on basis their macro micro-morphological features. Morphological identification further confirmed molecular analysis through DNA extraction sequencing PCR amplification ITS4 ITS5 gene primers. Phylogenetic examination revealed that five novel related family including Chaetomium cucumericola, C. madrasense, Amesia atrobrunnea, A. cymbiformis Botryotichum verrucosum. Three species, B. verrucosum, documented for first time Iraqi mycobiota. To best our acknowledgment, this is investigating vegetables

The grasslands in North China are rich fungal resources. However, the knowledge of structure and function communities role microbial vegetation restoration succession limited. Thus, we used an Illumina HiSeq PE250 high-throughput sequencing platform to study changing characteristics soil degraded grasslands, which were categorized as non-degraded (ND), lightly degraded, moderately severely (SD). Moreover, a correlation analysis between physical chemical properties was completed. results showed that number plant species, coverage, aboveground biomass, diversity index decreased significantly with increasing degradation, there significant differences among different grasslands. dominant phyla grassland follows: Ascomycota, 44.88%-65.03%; Basidiomycota, 12.68%-29.91%; unclassified, 5.51%-16.91%. fungi Mortierella, 6.50%-11.41%;
