Abstract
Anxiety
and
trauma‐related
disorders,
such
as
post‐traumatic
stress
disorder
(PTSD),
are
debilitating
mental
illnesses
with
great
personal
socioeconomic
costs.
Examining
memory
formation
relevant
behavioural
responding

aversive
stimuli
may
improve
our
understanding
of

neurobiology
underlying
fear
processing
PTSD
treatment.

Abstract:
This
narrative
state-of-the-art
review
paper
describes
the
progress
in
understanding
and
treatment
of
Posttraumatic
Stress
Disorder
(PTSD).
Over
last
four
decades,
scientific
landscape
has
matured,

contributions
to
its
diagnosis,
etiology,
epidemiology.
