As “kidneys of the earth”, wetlands play an important role in ameliorating weather conditions, flood storage, and control reduction environmental pollution. With development local economies, both Amazon Yangtze River Basins have been affected threatened by human activities, such as urban expansion, reclamation land from lakes, degradation, large-scale agricultural development. It is necessary to develop a wetland ecosystem health evaluation model quantitatively evaluate these two basins. In this paper, GlobeLand30 cover maps socio-economic climate data 2000 2010 were adopted assess on basis pressure-state-response (PSR) model. A total 13 indicators selected build assessment system. Weights PSR components, well normalized scores, assigned calculated based analytic hierarchy process method. The results showed that 2010, value mean index Basin decreased 0.482 0.481, while it increased 0.582 0.593 Basin. This indicated average status better than Basin, improved over time but worsened

Lakes in Europe are subject to multiple anthropogenic pressures, such as eutrophication, habitat degradation and introduction of alien species, which frequently inter-related. Therefore, effective assessment methods addressing pressures needed. In addition, these systems have be harmonised (i.e. intercalibrated) achieve common management objectives across Europe. Assessments fish communities inform environmental policies on ecological conditions integrating the impacts pressures. However, challenge is ensure consistency assessments through time, ecosystem types jurisdictional boundaries. To overcome serious comparability issues between national Europe, a total pressure intensity (TAPI) index was developed weighted combination most European lakes that validated against 10 fish-based water quality using data from 556 lakes. Multi-pressure indices showed significantly higher correlations with than single-pressure indices. The best-performing combines hydromorphological alterations human use For specific lake also biological may constitute an important additional pressure. strong correlation eight systems. This can used for assessing ecosystems creates benchmark comparison independent community composition, size structure fishing-gear. We argue multiple-pressure tools should seen complementary offering major advantage direct indirect effects over large scales space time.
