This review article gathers the most recent recycling technologies for thermoset and thermoplastic polymers. Results about existing experimental procedures their effectiveness are presented. For polymers, focuses mainly on fibre-reinforced polymer composites, with an emphasis epoxy-based systems carbon/glass fibres as reinforcement, due to environmental concerns of end-of-life management. Thermal processes (fluidised bed, pyrolysis) chemical (different types solvolysis) discussed. The combined (microwave, steam, ultrasonic assisted techniques) extraordinary attempts (electrochemical, biological, ionic liquids) analysed. Mechanical that leads downgrading materials is excluded. Insights also given upcycling methodologies have been implemented until now reuse fibres. As state-of-the-art approach common matrices presented, together appropriate additivation matrix upcycling. Mechanical, chemical, enzymatic described, among others. use composites quite new, thus, achievements With all above information, this extensive can serve a guide educational purposes, targeting students technicians in polymers recycling.

This work aims to develop cornstarch (CS) based films using fructose (F), glycerol (G), and their combination (FG) as plasticizers with different ratios for food packaging applications. The findings showed that F-plasticized film had the lowest moisture content, highest crystallinity among all films, exhibited tensile strength thermostability. In contrast, G-plasticized density water absorption less compared control other plasticized film. addition, SEM results indicated FG-plasticized a relatively smoother more coherent surface tested films. have also shown varying concentration of significantly affected properties Therefore, selection suitable plasticizer at an appropriate may optimize promote utilization CS

Today, plastics are ubiquitous in everyday life, problem solvers of modern technologies, and crucial for sustainable development. Yet the surge global demand growing world population has triggered a tidal wave plastic debris environment. Moving from linear to zero-waste carbon-neutral circular economy is vital future planet. Taming waste flood requires closing carbon loop through reuse, mechanical molecular recycling, capture, use greenhouse gas dioxide. In quest eco-friendly products, do not need be reinvented but tuned reuse recycling. Their full potential must exploited regarding energy, resource, eco-efficiency, prevention, economy, climate change mitigation, lowering environmental pollution. Biodegradation holds promise composting bio-feedstock recovery, it neither Holy Grail nor panacea littering. As an alternative downcycling, recycling enables both closed-loop recovery virgin open-loop valorization, producing hydrogen, fuels, refinery feeds, lubricants, chemicals, carbonaceous materials. Closing does create Perpetuum Mobile renewable energy achieve sustainability.

The concept of a “green hospital” is used in reference to hospital that includes the environment as part its quality services and one pays attention sustainable design buildings. Waste disposal represents potential risk for environment; therefore, waste collection from healthcare centers key environmental issue. Our study aims systematically review experiences acquired worldwide nosocomial settings related management waste. Nineteen studies, selected between January 2020 April 2022 on Scopus, MEDLINE/PubMed Web Science databases were included our systematic narrative review. Operating room hemodialysis activities seem be procedures most associated with production. To deal production, 5Rs rule (reduce, reuse, recycle, rethink research) was common suggested strategy derive maximum practical benefit while generating minimum amount In this context, COVID-19 pandemic slowed down greening process environments. requires multifactorial approach medical management, even considering climate change world experiencing. Education health personnel managers, regulation by governmental institutions, creation an “environmental team”, awareness stakeholders policymakers are some measures needed facilities.

Extensive research on the production of energy and valuable materials from plastic waste using pyrolysis has been widely conducted during recent years. Succeeding in demonstrating sustainability this technology economically technologically at an industrial scale is a great challenge. In most cases, crude products cannot be used directly for several reasons, including presence contaminants. This confirmed by studies, advanced characterization techniques such as two-dimensional gas chromatography. Thus, to overcome these limitations, post-treatment methods, dechlorination, distillation, catalytic upgrading hydroprocessing, are required. Moreover, integration units into conventional refineries only possible if pre-treated, which involves sorting, washing dehalogenation. The different studies examined review showed that distillation oil allows control carbon distribution fractions. hydroprocessing pyrolytic gives promising results terms reducing contaminants, chlorine, one order magnitude. Recent developments product methods also reported review. application generation or added-value material determines economic process.
