The quantity of plastic materials produced worldwide is progressively increasing. For instance, annual global production has increased from 1.5 to 390.7 million metric tons 1950 2021. Meanwhile, inefficient management strategies have resulted in huge waste disposal (i.e., the form macro-, micro-, and nanoplastics) environment a hostile manner. In particular, such uncontrollable discarding paves entrance pollution into as microplastics (μPs) after degradation macroplastics. this respect, marine environments are most typical regions prone μP pollution. These ubiquitous emerging pollutants can also adsorb other pollutants, organic materials, toxic heavy metal ions, pathogens, transfer them living organisms. main theme present study compile information on how affects ecosystem, with particular emphasis following key factors: (i) types sources μPs, particularly those entering sinks; (ii) mechanisms leading μPs' degradation; (iii) poisonous effects μPs biota humans; (iv) fate environment, including their transportation routes deposition modes, (v) recent developments characterization, separation, removal environment. presented here would be practical for developing effective risk plans.

The usage of face masks in various sectors healthcare facilities dates back to years ago. However, the utilization facial coverings experienced a rapid surge as result escalating rate COVID-19 infections witnessed across entire globe. This culminated an unparalleled inundation disposed within surrounding ecosystem. transforms mask from potent protectant into massive emerging solid plastic waste pollutant with long-term adverse effects on environment and human health. worldwide scale escalated immensely significant 129 billion per month at onset pandemic. Waterborne heavy metals pose significant threats to both the environment and public health, causing neurological damage, developmental disorders, organ cancer. It is essential address contamination of various water bodies by these hazardous substances due their persistent nature lack biodegradability. This review thoroughly explores traditional modern strategies utilized remedy sources contaminated with evaluates effectiveness potential scalability each method. A literature survey reveals several effective for removing from water: adsorption, flotation, ion exchange, chemical precipitation, membrane-based filtration, coagulation, flocculation, phytoremediation, electrochemical methods. In our examination, we discussed agents/adsorbents used, efficiency removal technique, operating conditions, intrinsic advantages disadvantages approach. Summarizing key findings, noted a focus on adsorption techniques; however, challenges include selectively diverse ions, prolonged retention times, cycling stability. While membrane methods are practical, issues like large-volume sludge formation exist. Although electrical-based appear promising, solutions needed industrial-scale separation as well. Prioritizing real wastewater samples in studies crucial. Future research should emphasize eco-friendly, cost-effective

SUMMARYThis narrative review and meta-analysis summarizes a broad evidence base on the benefits-and also practicalities, disbenefits, harms personal, sociocultural environmental impacts-of masks masking. Our synthesis of from over 100 published reviews selected primary studies, including re-analyzing contested meta-analyses key clinical trials, produced seven findings. First, there is strong consistent for airborne transmission severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) other pathogens. Second, are, if correctly consistently worn, effective in reducing diseases show dose-response effect. Third, respirators are significantly more than medical or cloth masks. Fourth, mask mandates overall, community Fifth, important symbols; non-adherence to masking sometimes linked political ideological beliefs widely circulated mis- disinformation. Sixth, while much that not generally harmful general population, may be relatively contraindicated individuals with certain conditions, who require exemption. Furthermore, groups (notably D/deaf people) disadvantaged when others masked. Finally, risks environment single-use respirators. We propose an agenda future research, improved characterization situations which should recommended mandated; attention comfort acceptability; generalized disability-focused communication support settings where worn; development testing novel materials designs filtration, breathability, impact.

Hydrogels have various potential applications due to their unique characteristics and recently, hydrogels been utilized as adsorbents in wastewater treatment because of ability remove contaminants from water. Constructing strong with high adsorption capabilities is crucial for effective treatment. Scientists researchers are working improve the properties by incorporating inorganic elements into polymer networks, which further reduces costs well simplifies preparation. Natural polymers like starch alginate widespread economic biological advantages, such biodegradability, biocompatibility, reduced toxicity, environmental friendliness, low cost. The pollutants onto use antimicrobial agents has garnered significant attention. This review paper summarizes latest studies on using endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), persistent organic (POPs), other emerging water environments along agents. In first step, different classes characterization techniques discussed. Next elaborated understand how these can be a candidate activities. While discussing application hydrogels, isothermal, kinetics thermodynamics models discussed highlight mechanism nature forces involved pollutants. Further simulations DFT MD get more holistic understanding hydrogels.
