Heavy metal (HM) pollution in agricultural soils represents a hidden danger to food security worldwide. In this paper, the spatio-temporal trends of heavy metals from eight countries and 50 soil samples farmland were evaluated through combination field surveys meta-analysis provide comprehensive report on pollution. The analysed using inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) (Perkin Elmer Nixon 300Q). contamination factor (CF) load index (PLI) calculated. results CF indicate extreme for Cr, suggesting ecotoxicological effects, while PLI values range baseline moderate Cd, Hg, Cu, Zn, Ni, except which shows very high pollution, that oils have undergone some form deterioration. reviewed articles published between 2010 2023 showed increasing all HMs. weighted mean As, Ni 0.0-222.7, 0.08-289.2, 0.03-193, 2.94-198.1, 0.0-771.1, 0.0-231, 1.71-99.75.6 mg/kg, respectively. Zn As exceeded two three times China National Environmental Monitoring Centre (CNEMC) European Union's most cited guideline (MEF), rock crust guideline. correlation matrix heatmap revealed highly positive Cr (R2 = 0.66), these elements same source are likely prevalent soils. spatial origin publications reveals 82% studies followed by South Africa Italy accounting 4% respectively Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco, Iran, Turkey account 2% each. findings study important implications environmental regulation protection Unlike previous often adopt "silos" method, highlights nexus approach integrates both experimental could establish more understanding

Coal remains a very important source of energy for the global economy. Surface and underground coal mining are two major methods extraction, both have benefits drawbacks. can variety environmental impacts including ecosystem losses, landscape alteration, soil destruction, changes to surface groundwater quality quantity. In addition, toxic compounds such as heavy metals, radioactive elements, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), other organic contaminants released in environment, ultimately affecting health ecosystems general population. Underground has large on water supplies quality, but generally less visual leaving waste tailings subsidence problems. response concern about these issues, many strategies been developed by scientists practitioners minimize land degradation pollution due mining. Reclamation laws passed numerous countries during past 50 years instituted practices reduce burying materials, saving replacing topsoil, vegetating surface. While modern decreased impacts, sites inadequately reclaimed present long-lasting The current review summarizes progress comprehending (1) pollution, (2) potential risks associated with mining, (3) different types remediating contaminated soils. Research prospective directions regions include refinements assessing pollutant levels, use biochars amendments, phytoremediation soils, release elements mercury thallium.

Capping stabilization were achieved by using koenigii leaf extract. optical, structural, morphological valance NPs characterized UV-DRS, FTIR, XRD, FESEM with EDX, TEM, XPS. An XRD analysis determined that have monoclinic structure crystallite size 24 nm. TEM images confirm spherical nature NPs, distributions on surfaces show lower agglomerations. showed high optical absorbance in UV region wide bandgap indicating surface oxygen vacancies charge carriers. presence Zr O elements O=Zr=O bonds was categorized EDX FTIR spectroscopy. plant molecules’ interface, bonding, binding energy, existence established from XPS analysis. photocatalytic degradation methylene blue examined under visible light irradiation. 94% toxic MB dye within 20 min. inhibition tested against S. aureus E. coli pathogens. Heavy metals (HMs) contamination and vegetation destruction in the mining area caused by activities are severely increasing. It is urgent to restore stabilize HMs. In this study, we compared ability of HMs phytoextraction/phytostabilization three dominant plants, including Artemisia argyi (LA), Miscanthus floridulus (LM), Boehmeria nivea (LZ) a lead-zinc Huayuan County (China). We also explored role rhizosphere bacterial community assisting phytoremediation using 16S rRNA sequencing technology. Bioconcentration factor (BCF) translocation (TF) analysis showed that LA preferred accumulating Cd, LZ Cr Sb, LM Ni. Significant (p < 0.05) differences were found among soil microbial communities these plants. The key genera Truepera Anderseniella, Paracoccus Erythrobacter, was Novosphingobium.
