Lead (Pb2+) is a hazardous heavy metal that pervasive in the human environment as result of anthropogenic activity, and poses serious health risks, particularly children. Due to its innumerable unique physical chemical properties, it has various applications; therefore, become common environmental pollutant. may cause oxidative stress, accumulating evidence indicates stress influences pathophysiology lead poisoning, also called plumbism. The immune system continually exposed pathogens xenobiotics, including metals such lead, appears be one most vulnerable targets. After being cells are subjected reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. When generation consumption ROS out equilibrium, cell structures, phospholipids disrupted leading lipid peroxidation. Various inflammatory signalling pathways activated consequence, along with reduced disease resistance, inflammation, autoimmunity, sensitization disruption cell-mediated humoral systems. negatively affects metabolism cytokines, interleukins IL-2, IL-1b, IL-6, IL-4, IL-8, tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), interferon-gamma (IFN), well expression functioning enzymes cyclooxygenases. However, toxicity depends on kind dosage, route entry, exposure period, age, host genetic predisposition.

The present study aimed to quantify the concentration levels of potentially toxic elements (PTEs) such as aluminum, arsenic, cadmium, chromium, copper, nickel, lead, zinc, and mercury, well microplastics occurrence in various tissues fish seafood species, commercialized Lower Danube River Basin. A health risk assessment analysis was performed based on PTEs muscle tissue. Estimated daily intake (EDI), target hazard quotient (THQ), index (HI), cancer (TR) were calculated. It observed that species within category registered highest PTEs. For instance, tissue bivalve Mytilus galloprovincialis (from Black Sea), value case Zn (37.693 mg/kg), presence polystyrene polymer identified. values associated with EDI, THQ, HI, TR PTE exposure significantly lower than 1.

Abstract Mercury exposure poses significant threats to human health, particularly in its organic form, methylmercury (MeHg). Diet is the main pathway for MeHg exposure, especially through seafood consumption. In this context, numerous studies have established concentration datasets assess MeHg-related health risks from However, existing are limited specific regions and short-term observations, making it difficult support continuous dynamic assessments of global risks. This study takes a bottom-up approach construct dataset during 1995-2022. Firstly, compiles long-term time series marine-scale concentrations, based on reported mercury concentrations literature machine learning methods. Subsequently, used catch volumes each nation different marine areas as weights estimate national-scale concentrations. can provide essential data environmental impact assessment compounds mentioned Articles 12 19 Minamata Convention Mercury.

Hypertension remains a major global public health crisis due to various contributing factors, such as age and environmental exposures. This study delves into exploring the intricate association between biological aging, blood lead levels, hypertension, along with examining mediating role of levels in relationship aging hypertension. We analyzed data from two cycles NHANES, encompassing 4473 individuals aged 18 years older. Our findings indicate that potentially escalates risk hypertension incidences systolic pressure (SBP) diastolic (DBP) abnormalities. Utilizing weighted quantile sum (WQS) g-computation (QGC) model analyses, we observed exposure heavy metal mixtures, particularly lead, may elevate likelihood SBP, DBP Further mediation analysis revealed significantly mediated SBP abnormalities, accounting for 64% (95% CI, 49% 89%) 44% 88%) effects, respectively. These outcomes emphasize criticality implementing measures.
