An emerging environmental contaminant, bis(2-ethylhexyl)-2,3,4,5-tetrabromophthalate (TBPH), can bioaccumulate in the liver and affect hepatic lipid metabolism. However, in-depth mechanism has yet to be comprehensively explored. In this study, we utilized transgenic zebrafish Tg (Apo14: GFP) image interference of TBPH on development metabolism at early stage. Using integrated lipidomic transcriptomic analyses profile remodeling effect, uncovered potential effects lipophagy-related signaling pathways larvae. Decreased contents accompanied by enhanced lipophagy were confirmed measurements Oil Red O staining transmission electron microscopy tissues. Particularly, regulatory role foxo1 factor was validated via its transcriptional inhibitor. Double immunofluorescence with biochemical analysis indicated that mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation induced reversed To summarize, our study reveals, for first time, essential foxo1-mediated TBPH-induced metabolic disorders hepatoxicity, providing new insights disease studies ecological health risk assessment TBPH.
