Among many pathogens and pests, honey bee viruses are known as one of the most common cause diseases in colonies. In this study, we demonstrate that pollen grains bread potential sources viral DNA. We extracted DNA from 3 types samples: directly provided by beekeepers (n = 12), purchased trade markets 5), obtained honeycombs (bee bread, n 10). The was used for molecular detection (RT-PCR analysis) six widely distributed viruses: deformed wing virus, sacbrood acute paralysis black queen cell Kashmir Israeli chronic virus. successfully managed to establish only virus (DWV) (SBV), with different distribution frequencies depending on territory country. phylogenetic analyses Bulgarian isolates were performed similar sequences available databases other countries. Phylogenies strains demonstrated genetically heterogeneous populations DWV relatively homogenous SBV. conclusion, results current study have shown is a valuable source pathogens. This allows epidemiological monitoring at regional national level.

The genus Serratia harbors opportunistic pathogenic species, among which marcescens is for honeybees although little studied. Recently, virulent strains of S. colonizing the Varroa destructor mite’s mouth were found vectored into honeybee body, leading to septicemia and death. also occurs as an pathogen in honeybee’s gut with a low absolute abundance. population seems controlled by host immune system, but its presence may represent hidden threat, ready arise when are weakened biotic abiotic stressors. To shed light on pathogen, this research aims at studying ’s development dynamics body interactions co-occurring fungal Vairimorpha ceranae . Firstly, degree pathogenicity ability permeate epithelial barrier three strains, isolated from belonging different species ( , liquefaciens nematodiphila ), assessed artificial inoculation newborn doses (10 4 10 6 8 cells/mL). abundance hemocoel was qPCR primers targeting luxS gene. Moreover, infected V. stages supplied beneficial microorganisms fumagillin. Our results showed that all tested could pass through proliferate hemocoel, being most pathogenic. under cage conditions, better proliferates infection co-occurring, positive significant correlation. Finally, fumagillin some control both development. findings suggest correlation between two pathogens laboratory should be taken consideration researches testing antimicrobial compounds active against related survival rate. our environmental microorganism Apilactobacillus kunkeei vivo model, confirming potential specie bacteria honeybees.

Honey bees play an important role in the pollination of crops and wild plants provide products to humans. Pathogens parasites are main factors that threaten beekeeping South Korea. Therefore, a nationwide detection 14 honey bee pathogens, including (phorid flies, Nosema ceranae, Acarapis woodi mites), viruses, bacteria, fungal was conducted from 2017 2021 country. The infection rate trend each pathogenic agent were determined. A total 830 samples Apis cerana (n = 357) A. mellifera 473) examined. N. ceranae (35.53%), deformed wing virus (52.63%), sacbrood (SBV) black queen cell (55.26%) most prevalent their prevalence rapidly increased 2021. Paenibacillus larvae, Israeli acute paralysis virus, Ascosphaera apis, woodi, Melissococcus plutonius, chronic remained stable during surveillance period, with rates ranging 5.26% 16.45% Other phorid Kashmir Aspergillus flavus, had low gradually declined period. occurrence honeybee pathogens peaked July.
