Abstract The present study evaluated the health status of rainbow trout (30.24±5.34 g) acclimated to high-saline water (28‰). Among adaptation procedures, gradually-acclimated (for 48 h) fish showed best performance, which were then introduced offshore cage-farm for further monitoring in marine environment over a long-term period 100 days, until harvest weight 319.9±48.51 g. Fish and welfare was by means biochemical parameters (viscerasomatic index, hepatosomatic mesenteric fat spleen somatic index), hematological (serum glucose, triglyceride, cholesterol, total protein, albumin, globulin), immune (lysozyme, myeloperoxidase, respiratory burst potential killing values). Gradual acclimation did not show any adverse effects on parameters. No significant differences found biometric measures (P>0.05). However, time-dependent increase recorded hematology markers (P<0.05) after seawater transfer, improved long term from March 7 June 14, 2018. All serum markers, except protein alterations but without detrimental influence day 100. Therefore, it seems possible expand farms brackish sites higher saline environments up 28‰ salinity, with no impacts health, that turn may significantly contribute extension aquaculture wider areas.

The use of natural immunostimulants in aquaculture is intended to foster overall health and bolster resilience against diseases farmed fish populations. It constitutes a crucial strategy that can contribute securing the sustainability industry, it an area warrants ongoing exploration development. Therefore, aim present work was evaluate effect dietary administration olive pulp on growth rate, metabolic profile, serum antioxidant potential, humoral cellular innate immune parameters gilthead seabream ( Sparus aurata L.). For this, were fed control diet or enriched diets (50, 100, 200 mg kg feed −1 ) for 4 weeks. Our results demonstrated highest inclusion level improved rates biological potential fish. However, after weeks feeding, most assayed (Ca 2+ , TP, ALB, K + Na increased with containing lowest (50 ). Regarding parameters, IgM levels decreased 50′s 2 trial. 100 showed increase hemolytic complement activity whilst this only sustained 200′s group After peroxidase due inclusion. Concerning activity, respiratory burst, phagocytic ability head-kidney leucocytes 100′s at compared values from These suggest pulp-enriched benefit growth, antioxidant, status seabream.
