Over the last few years, development of fluorescent probes has received considerable attention. Fluorescence signaling allows noninvasive and harmless real-time imaging with great spectral resolution in living objects, which is extremely useful for modern biomedical applications. This review presents basic photophysical principles strategies rational design as visualization agents medical diagnosis drug delivery systems. Common phenomena, such Intramolecular Charge Transfer (ICT), Twisted (TICT), Photoinduced Electron (PET), Excited-State Proton (ESIPT), Fluorescent Resonance Energy (FRET), Aggregation-Induced Emission (AIE), are described platforms fluorescence sensing vivo vitro. The presented examples focused on pH, biologically important cations anions, reactive oxygen species (ROS), viscosity, biomolecules, enzymes that find application diagnostic purposes. general regarding molecular logic devices fluorescence-drug conjugates theranostic systems discussed. work could be help researchers working field compounds, gates, delivery.

Near-infrared fluorescence (NIRF) imaging as an exquisite sensitive, high spatial-resolution, and real-time tool plays important role in visualizing pathologies the brain. In this study, we designed synthesized a series of NIR probes hydroxyethyl cycloheptatriene-BODIPY derivatives that have demonstrated strong binding specificity to native neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs) Alzheimer's disease (AD) brain sections. The improved hydrophilicity TNIR7-9 TNIR7-11 resulted faster clearance rates from healthy brains (4.2 10.9, respectively) compared previously reported compounds. Furthermore, TNIR7-13, which features fluorinated modification, exhibited affinity Tau aggregates (Kd = 11.8 nM) held promise for future PET studies.
