Silicon-based thin films and nanostructures are of paramount importance in a wide range applications, including microelectronics, photovoltaics, large area sensors, biomedicine. The accessibility silicon its relatively low cost have driven continuous improvement technology based on this element. Plasma has been widely used for the synthesis coatings silicon. Moreover, it made fundamental contribution to physicochemical properties silicon-based materials allows nanometric structures with well-defined shapes morphologies. In work, we reviewed most interesting developments plasma-assisted processes Si-based materials, both inorganic organic, last five years. Special attention paid new techniques, or modifications already-existing ones, that open up possibilities properties, as well novel characteristics.

Abstract Surface modification of polymer fiber membranes using atmospheric pressure low-temperature plasma has gained significant attention in recent years. The effectiveness surface determined by the uniform distribution reactive species when touching fibers. In this study, we investigated patterns on fibers with different spacings both experiment and modeling. results revealed that reduced spacing produced an obstructive effect propagation species. This obstruction was primarily caused accumulation a charge windward side fiber. Consequently, there substantial difference fluxes between leeward sides membrane, resulting poor uniformity distribution. It worth noting exhibited double-peak circumferential filaments. phenomenon attributed to coupling filaments, wherein electric field strength higher within gap. The present study investigates the impact of glow discharge cold plasma-induced duoplasmatron ion source on mechanical properties multi-axial knitted structure reinforced glass fiber composites. Analysis failure location and mode in bending tests was conducted using acoustic emission method. results reveal that tensile strength composites treated with oxygen/nitrogen plasma had increased by 21.84% 37.28%, respectively. In contrast, when oxygen/argon plasma, corresponding enhancements were 17.47% 24.16%, These indicate treatment yields superior to treatment. accumulated energy subjected treatments 25.49% 62.39% lower than untreated samples, observed matrix cracking, whereas dual exhibited interface debonding. modification enhanced wettability surface roughness, facilitating contact area between promoting overall bonding performance two components. Taken together, our findings suggest
