In this review, the principles and characteristics of solid-phase extraction (SPE) are discussed. The categories nanomaterial-based adsorbents namely metal/metal oxides, magnetic nanoparticles, silica-based two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials (NMs), polymeric nanotubes, semiconductor NMs, nanoporous materials along with their features discussed followed by evaluating synthetic strategies. Finally, application sorbents for preconcentration drugs, pesticides, heavy metals in biological, food, environmental samples is assessed. Overall, future SPE techniques expected to include advances downsizing, automation, selectivity, sustainability, integration other analytical techniques, resulting more efficient effective sample preparation procedures a variety applications.

In this work, an easy, safe, simple, and efficient pH‐switchable deep eutectic solvents (DESs)‐based liquid phase microextraction followed by high‐performance chromatography‐diode array detector analysis was developed for the determination of 1,3‐dimethylamylamine (DMAA).
