Abstract Sustainable Development Goal 8 proposes the promotion of full and productive employment for all. Intelligent production factors, such as robots, Internet Things, extensive data analysis, are reshaping dynamics labour supply demand. In China, which is a developing country with large population force, analysing impact artificial intelligence technology on market particular importance. Based panel from 30 provinces in China 2006 to 2020, two-way fixed-effect model two-stage least squares method used analyse AI assess its heterogeneity. The introduction installation represented by industrial robots Chinese enterprises has increased number jobs. results some mechanism studies show that increase productivity, deepening capital refinement division been introduced into through robotics have successfully mitigated damaging adoption robot employment. Rather than traditional perceptions crowding out jobs, overall exerted promotional effect. positive effect exhibits an inevitable heterogeneity, it serves relatively improves job share women workers labour-intensive industries. Mechanism research shown virtual agglomeration, evolved agglomeration era digital economy, important channel increasing findings this study contribute understanding modern technologies well-being people countries. To give play role employment, we should improve social security system, accelerate process high-end domestic deepen reform education training system.

Industry 5.0 is on the horizon, but role of digital twins (DTs) as one its major technological enablers far from being understood. This article begins with a bibliometric analysis and systematic review, followed by discussion insights obtained literature through lens strong structuration theory. The results include description new paradigm future-oriented responsible physical-digital convergence, research agenda, proposal structure – agency (SA)–DT framework to guide advances in twins. A concept-centric used identify use cases, impacts, redesigned forms physical–digital interaction, challenges, changes both human non-human agents increasingly intertwined more advanced DT solutions. Based on theoretical analysis, this study examines the relationship between development of China’s digital economy and urban–rural income gap by using an empirical model to test panel data for 30 provinces in China from 2009 2019. The results reveal that (1) there is a “U-shaped” gap, with narrowing early stages widening medium-to-long term. (2) peripheral regions will have impact region through spatial spillover. (3) heterogeneity tests has stronger western weaker east. (4) A double difference “Broadband Rural” construction as policy shock variable reveals pilot project helped reduce gap. This deepens our understanding integrated development. It provides basis practical experience enhancing living standard rural residents promoting urban areas.
