Since the second half of twentieth century, intracranial electroencephalography (iEEG), including both electrocorticography (ECoG) and stereo-electroencephalography (sEEG), has provided an intimate view into human brain. At interface between fundamental research clinic, iEEG provides high temporal resolution spatial specificity but comes with constraints, such as individual's tailored sparsity electrode sampling. Over years, researchers in neuroscience developed their practices to make most approach. Here we offer a critical review didactic framework for newcomers, well addressing issues encountered by proficient researchers. The scope is threefold: (i) common research, (ii) suggest potential guidelines working data answer frequently asked questions based on widespread practices, (iii) current neurophysiological knowledge methodologies, pave way good practice standards research. organization this paper follows steps processing. first section contextualizes collection. focuses localization electrodes. third highlights main pre-processing steps. fourth presents signal analysis methods. fifth discusses statistical approaches. sixth draws some unique perspectives Finally, ensure consistent nomenclature throughout manuscript align other guidelines, e.g., Brain Imaging Data Structure (BIDS) OHBM Committee Best Practices Analysis Sharing (COBIDAS), provide glossary disambiguate terms related

Abstract Neural interfaces, emerging at the intersection of neurotechnology and urban planning, promise to transform how we interact with our surroundings communicate. By recording decoding neural signals, these interfaces facilitate direct connections between brain external devices, enabling seamless information exchange shared experiences. Nevertheless, their development is challenged by complexities in materials science, electrochemistry, algorithmic design. Electrophysiological crosstalk mismatch electrode rigidity tissue flexibility further complicate signal fidelity biocompatibility. Recent closed‐loop brain‐computer while promising for mood regulation cognitive enhancement, are limited accuracy adaptability user interfaces. This perspective outlines challenges discusses progress contrasting non‐invasive invasive approaches, explores dynamics stimulation interfacing. Emphasis placed on applications beyond healthcare, highlighting need implantable high‐resolution capabilities.

A rapidly emerging application of network neuroscience in neuroimaging studies has provided useful tools to understand individual differences intrinsic brain function by mapping spontaneous activity, namely functional (ifNN). However, the variability methodologies applied across ifNN studies-with respect node definition, edge construction, and graph measurements-makes it difficult directly compare findings also challenging for end users select optimal strategies networks. Here, we aim provide a benchmark best practices systematically comparing measurement reliability under different analytical using test-retest design Human Connectome Project. The results uncovered four essential principles guide studies: (1) use whole parcellation define nodes, including subcortical cerebellar regions; (2) construct networks activity multiple slow bands; (3) optimize topological economy at level; (4) characterize information flow with specific metrics integration segregation. We built an interactive online resource assessments future (https://ibraindata.com/research/ifNN).

Preadolescence is a period of increased vulnerability for anxiety, especially among Latina girls. Reduced microstructure (fractional anisotropy; FA) white matter tracts between limbic and prefrontal regions may underlie regulatory impairments in anxiety. However, developmental research on the association anxiety mixed, possibly due to interactive influences with puberty. In sample 39 girls (8-13 years), we tested whether pubertal stage moderated parent- child-reported symptoms FA cingulum uncinate fasciculus. Parent- but not predicted lower FA, this effect was by stage, such that only significant prepubertal Neither nor fasciculus FA. These findings suggest associated disruptions girls' relationship undergoes maturational changes during
