Enhancing the "antenna effect" of ligands and promoting energy transfer to a lanthanide metal center is one most effective ways construct complex-based emitters with bright emissions. Herein, highly stable nanoclusters (Ln9Zn8; Ln = Dy, Tb, Eu, or Gd) were constructed using Zn(II) metalloligand protection strategy, "dual antenna was selectively turned on enhance luminescence Eu9Zn8. The enabled dual effect for Eu9Zn8, resulting in its solid state being significantly stronger than that Tb9Zn8. Eu9Zn8 has excellent optical sensing properties Al3+, Fe3+, Cr2O72–. Notably, ultrasmall nanocluster showed cellular uptake labeling capabilities after incubation HeLa, MDA–MB–231, HepG2, H9c2, 4T1, SK–OV–3, MCF–7 cells. This work opens up new horizons application biological imaging.

Two novel cobalt(II)-based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), namely, {[Co3(TTHA)(bibp)2(H2O)]}n (1) and {[Co2(H2TTHA)(bidpe)2]}n (2) (H6TTHA = 1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triamine hexaacetic acid, bibp 4,4′-bis(imidazolyl)biphenyl, bidpe 4,4-bis(imidazoly)diphenyl ether), were hydrothermally prepared based on the mixed ligands strategy fully characterized. Due to rich coordination modes of carboxylic acid ligand, 1 possesses a three-dimensional (3D) structure with two secondary building units ([Co3N3(CO2)4(CO)4] [Co2N2(CO2)4]), whereas 2 exhibits tangled one-dimensional (1D) chain further forms 3D assembled by weak interactions. Interestingly, can serve as an unusual turn-on sensor for detection trivalent metal ions (Al3+, Cr3+, Fe3+) in aqueous solution low limit, shows high-sensitivity fluorescence turn-off behavior toward polystyrene styrene biomarker phenylglyoxylic (PGA). Significantly, effectively sense PGA complicated biological environments. The mechanism study indicated that absorbance-caused enhancement is responsible phenomena induced ions, while occurrence structural collapse leads effect PGA.

ABSTRACT The synthesis and characterization of SBA‐Pr‐Ald‐MA as a modified mesoporous silica material made from SBA‐15 are presented in this work. Meldrum's acid (MA), 2‐chloroquinoline‐3‐carbaldehyde, 3‐(chloropropyl)‐trimethoxysilane were used to functionalize the SBA‐15. detection limit 7.80 × 10 −8 M for demonstrated its exceptional selectivity toward Fe 3+ ions. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations conducted using B3LYP/6‐311g(d,p)/LANL2DZ investigate molecular electrostatic potential (MEP), geometry optimization, orbital analysis, quantum chemical descriptors, photoinduced electron transfer (PET). Geometry optimization MEP diagram verified mechanism interaction obtained experimental results. PET analysis indicated that electrons transition LUMO Pr‐Ald‐MA + complex, leading maximum fluorescence quenching efficiency. ABSTRACT A two‐dimensional (2D) zinc(II) coordination polymer CP‐1 , [Zn(im 2 bod)(bdc)] n (im bod = 4,6‐bis(imidazol‐1‐yl)‐2,1,3‐benzoxadiazole, bdc 2− 1,4‐benzenedicarboxylate), was synthesized and fully characterized. crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system, space group P 1 /n. Zn 2+ ions adopt a four‐coordinated distorted tetrahedral geometry. The structure of comprises layer consisting cations connected by im ligands. adjutant layers participate π‐π stacking interactions via benzene 2,1,3‐benzoxadiazole rings. demonstrated blue emission with maximum at 490 nm photoluminescence quantum yield 24%. Luminescent sensing properties aqueous suspension toward metal were evaluated, selective quenching response observed Ga 3+ limit detection 10 μM.
