Structural studies of uranyl ion complexes metalloligands and zwitterions, ligand classes with some degree overlap, constitute a major contribution to more recent developments in uranium chemistry. To extent, they have been focussed on basic product characterization but generally gaining an understanding how particular features structure may influence the complete crystal thus potential for any applications. Metalloligands provide obvious means generating heterometallic since it is not always necessary preform metalloligand prior its interaction ion, can be identified by somewhat arbitrary excision appropriate components from very large number structures, so that only selected examples are considered here. Zwitterion (and oligozwitterion) complex structures treated comprehensively, two subclasses here being those where positive site aprotic protic, differing weak interactions involved. Association zwitterionic ligands classical, anionic polycarboxylates cucurbiturils covered extensively.

Polystyrene (PS) provides a huge convenience and promotes economic social development. However, difficulties in recycling degradation of PS make waste hazardous to the environment organisms. In recent years, up-recycling PS, which turns oxygenated monomer products with added value such as benzoic acid, has attracted much attention since it into treasure offers reference for pollution treatment. Considering solubility character solvent toxicity, volatility, explosiveness, herein, we described mild, green, effective under uranyl photocatalysis. The main high-value upgrading product, was obtained. Mechanism discussed based on multianalysis gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS), gel permeation chromatography (GPC), infrared spectrum (IR), isotopic labeling, simulations small units, so on. addition, successful application 20-g scale sunlight demonstrated potential this method utilizing solar energy degradation.

The recycling and reuse of trace uranium from spent nuclear fuel is great significance for the safety management cycle. However, stabilization low-valent has always been a challenge due to ultraoxidizable nature ions, which remains relatively uncharted territory in treatment. In current study, U4+ was immobilized Cs2UCl6 single crystal with perovskite structure uranyl under strong acidic environment. A comprehensive detailed understanding at atomic scale achieved by combining density functional theory (DFT) high-resolution integrated differential phase contrast scanning transmission electron microscopy (iDPC-STEM) imaging, captured utilizing Cs-corrected TEM first time. Furthermore, results obtained X-ray excitation photoexcitation effects produced PL 280, 330, 360 nm provide compelling evidence ability form excitable bands around Fermi level. as-synthesized demonstrates excellent thermal stability above 275 °C, as evidenced situ Raman spectroscopy thermogravimetric analysis, while degradation pathway initiated CsCl upon exposure water vapor revealed synchrotron diffraction. Thermal chemical can be further elevated consolidating it into metal-organic framework (MOF) via hot pressing. study provides promising strategy functionalize fuel.

[UO2(L)2] (1) and [(UO2)2(L)2(C2O4)] (2), where L– is 1,3-bis(carboxylatomethyl)-1H-benzimidazol-3-ium, are two uranyl ion complexes with a hemi-zwitterionic dicarboxylate ligand which have been synthesized under solvo-hydrothermal conditions characterized by their crystal structure luminescence properties. In both cases, the uranium atom in pentagonal-bipyramidal environment.
