In recent years, almost all extraction processes in the perfume, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food ingredients, nutraceuticals, biofuel and fine chemical industries rely massively on solvents, majority of which have petroleum origins. The intricate processing steps involved industrial cycle makes it increasingly difficult to predict overall environmental impact; despite tremendous energy consumption substantial usage often yields are indicated decimals. ideal alternative solvents suitable for green should high solvency, flash points with low toxicity impacts, be easily biodegradable, obtained from renewable (non-petrochemical) resources at a reasonable price easy recycle without any deleterious effect environment. Finding perfect solvent that meets aforementioned requirements is challenging task, thus decision optimum will always compromise depending process, plant target molecules. objective this comprehensive review furnish vivid picture current knowledge alternative, used laboratories alike natural products focusing original methods, innovation, protocols, development safe products.

Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) based on terpenes are identified and characterized. 507 combinations of solid components tested, which results in the identification 17 new hydrophobic DESs. Four criteria introduced to assess sustainability these DESs from a chemical engineering point view. These include viscosity smaller than 100 mPa·s, density difference between DES water at least 50 kg·m–3 upon mixing water, low transfer phase minor no pH change. The show that five natural satisfy criteria; thymol coumarin (2:1), menthol (1:1), (1:2) 1-tetradecanol (1:2), thus promising can be considered as deep solvents, have potential environmentally friendly. A selected group were used for extraction riboflavin water. They all higher removal comparison decanoic acid:tetraoctylammonium bromide (2:1). highest efficiency 81.1%, was achieved with DecA:Lid

Recent scientific studies have established a relationship between the consumption of phytochemicals such as carotenoids, polyphenols, isoprenoids, phytosterols, saponins, dietary fibers, polysaccharides, etc., with health benefits prevention diabetes, obesity, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, etc. This has led to popularization phytochemicals. Nowadays, foods containing constituent (functional foods) and concentrated form (nutraceuticals) are used preventive measure or cure for many diseases. The these depend on their purity structural stability. yield, purity, stability extracted matrix in which phytochemical is present, method extraction, solvent used, temperature, time extraction.

The principles of ‘green chemistry’ are gaining importance in agri-food sector due to the need reduce pollution from toxic chemicals, make industrial processes safer and more sustainable, offer ‘clean-labeled products’ required by consumers. application natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES) – product-based green liquids is considered promising alternative conventional organic solvents. This review intended summarize discuss recent advances related physicochemical properties NADES, their applications, compatibility with analytic techniques toxicological profile, pointing out challenges necessary improvements for wider utilization sector. NADES allow extraction wide range food compounds they proven be convenient food-related applications. However, potential scale-up not completely investigated. Examined readily biodegradable, but only preliminary studies on toxicity which include limited number molecules available. Apart fundamental research dealing formation nature interactions structure underpinning liquid phase formation, question purity obtained different synthetic methodologies addressed future. Data synthetized still needed as relevant
