Abstract Cathepsin S (CatS) is a lysosomal enzyme belonging to the papain family of cysteine proteases. Studies have demonstrated that CatS plays pivotal role in antigen presentation and associated with Alzheimer's disease, atherosclerosis, obesity, positioning it as potential target related disorders. Consequently, development selective straightforward method for detecting crucial. In this study, we introduce colorimetric approach utilizing gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) CatS‐specific peptides detection activity. The cleavage peptides, PMGAPC or PMGAPC‐NH 2 , can stabilize AuNPs hydrosaline solution without aggregation. Upon hydrolysis by CatS, aggregate color change from red blue. After optimizing size concentration limits were both be 10 nM, when used protect AuNPs. Therefore, assay, which employs AuNPs, enables not only but also simple visible naked eye.

Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) have outstanding catalytic properties, whereas their broader application is hindered by limited charge transport and stability. In this work, we present a simple rapid synthesis method for immobilizing AuNPs onto filters using polythiourea, aimed at facilitating enhancing the conversion of 2-nitrophenol in aqueous solutions. The results show an obvious enhancement performance when immobilized filter paper with reducing complete time from 14 min to 150 s. optimal addition amount polythiourea 5.0 mL. Additionally, kinetics recyclability system were investigated; it was observed that even after 15 cycles testing, on maintained consistently These findings suggest promising strategy extending functional lifespan while offering platform reactions.

This study aimed to develop a novel fluorescent aptasensor for the quantitative detection of zearalenone (ZEN), addressing limitations conventional techniques in terms speed, sensitivity, and ease use. Nitrogen-doped carbon dots (N-CDs) were synthesized via hydrothermal method, resulting spherical particles with diameter 3.25 nm. These N-CDs demonstrated high water solubility emitted bright blue light at 440 nm when excited 355 The fluorescence was quenched by dispersed gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) through inner filter effect, while aggregated AuNPs induced NaCl did not affect N-CDs. aptamer could protect from NaCl-induced aggregation, but presence ZEN weakened this protective effect. Based on principle, optimal conditions included 57 mM NaCl, 12.5 nM concentration, incubation 15 min Tris-EDTA(TE) buffer, 30 min. Under these optimized conditions, "signal-on" showed linear range 0.25 200 ng/mL low limit 0.0875 ng/mL. Furthermore, developed exhibited excellent specificity rapidly detect corn flour samples or oil, achieving satisfactory recovery rates ranging 84.7% 108.6%. Therefore, presents an economical, convenient, sensitive, rapid method accurately quantifying cereal products.
