As oxidative intermediates natural polyphenols, quinones widely exist in medicinal plants food. In this study, we used insulin an model test the anti-amyloid effects four simple anthraquinone derivatives from rhubarb, traditional herbal medicine for treating Alzheimer's disease. Our results demonstrated that all eight show inhibitory different extent oligomerization, especially 1,4-benzoquinone 1,4-naphthoquinone.
