Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs) have seen an exponential increase in incidence, particularly among pediatric patients. Psychological stress is a significant risk factor influencing the disease course. This review assesses interaction between and progression, focusing on articles that quantified inflammatory markers IBD patients exposed to varying degrees of psychological stress.

Abstract Aim To critically assess the effects of white noise on pain level, weight gain and vital signs (heart rate, respiratory rate oxygen saturation) preterm infants in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). Design A systematic review meta‐analysis randomised controlled trials (RCTs). Methods Ten databases (PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, Web Science, CINAHL, PsycINFO, SinoMed, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, VIP Wanfang Data) were systematically reviewed from inception to July 2022. Two reviewers evaluated risk bias separately using Collaboration criteria extracted data a predesigned information form. Results The included eight eligible RCTs. According statistical analysis, significantly affected gain, heart saturation infants. Regardless outcome measurement timing, gestational age birth infants, subgroup analysis demonstrated that reduced promoted NICUs. Conclusion White is practical potentially useful therapy for premature neonates No Patient or Public Contribution.

To identify sex-specific feeding patterns and associations with growth neurodevelopment in preterm infants during NICU through 2 years of corrected age (CA). A cohort study was conducted 216 (gestational 28 0/7 to 32 weeks). Daily regimens, including mother's own milk (MOM), human donor milk, formula; daily growth; acute chronic pain/stress were documented NICU. Network Neurobehavioral Scale (NNNS) (36 38 postmenstrual age), Bayley Scales Infant Toddler Development (Bayley) Edition III (1 CA) measured. Between week 9 16 after birth, only females showed a positive association between z-score proportion MOM intake before 8 (p < 0.05). Sex-differentiated stress observed positively correlated language or cognitive scores at CA = 0.01), this correlation not evident males. We discovered "window opportunity" for feeding, risk predictors up CA. These insights may inform development tailored potentially mitigating differences males females.

The objective of this study is to investigate the impact early life experiences and gut microbiota on neurobehavioral development in preterm infants during neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) hospitalization. Introduction: Preterm infants experience tremendous early life pain/stress during their neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) hospitalization, which impacts neurodevelopmental outcomes. Mitochondrial function/dysfunction may interface between perinatal stress events and neurodevelopment. Nevertheless, the specific proteins or pathways linking mitochondrial functions to pain-induced outcomes in remain unidentified. Our study aims investigate associations among pain/stress, associated with function/dysfunction, neurobehavioral responses preterm infants. Methods: We conducted a prospective cohort study, enrolling 33 September 2017 July 2022 at two affiliated NICUs located Hartford Farmington, CT. NICU Network Neurobehavioral Scale (NNNS) datasets were evaluated explore potential association The daily experienced by infant’s stay was documented. At 36–38 weeks post-menstrual age (PMA), using NNNS buccal swabs collected for further analysis. Sleep influences the interaction between infants and their environment, as well achievement of crucial milestones in motor language development. This is particularly significant for preterm vulnerable positions. However, prematurely born neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) are exposed to various stimuli such noise light, which disrupt normal sleep patterns. study assesses consolidates existing evidence on non-pharmacological strategies protecting promoting infants. By providing an evidence-based data repository, it offers a valuable reference clinical interventions.
