Rosa sect. Chinenses (Rosaceae) is an important parent of modern rose that widely distributed throughout China and plays role in breeding molecular biological research. R. has variable morphological traits mixed germplasm. However, the taxonomic status genetic background varieties remain unclear. In this study, we collected germplasm resources from with different traits. Simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers, chloroplast single copy nuclear markers were used to explore these resources. We described origin hybridization by combining markers. The results showed flower hip species significantly different. SSR analysis two wild type have backgrounds. double petal could be hybrids varieties. A phylogenetic maternal inheritance had origins. To some extent, variation reflects influence cultivation process. This study emphasizes vary their characteristics. Therefore, analyzing provide insight into highly heterozygous species.

Roses use a non-canonical pathway involving Nudix hydrolase, RhNUDX1, to synthesize their monoterpenes, especially geraniol. Here we report the characterization of another expressed NUDX1 gene from rose cultivar Rosa x wichurana, RwNUDX1-2. In order study function RwNUDX1-2 protein, analyzed volatile profiles an F1 progeny generated by crossing R. chinensis cv. 'Old Blush' with wichurana. A correlation test volatilomes expression data revealed that is involved in biosynthesis group sesquiterpenoids, E,E-farnesol, addition other sesquiterpenes. vitro enzyme assays and heterologous planta functional corroborated this result. quantitative trait locus (QTL) analysis was performed using E,E-farnesol contents genetic map constructed based on markers. The co-localized QTL for content, thereby confirming its sesquiterpenoid Finally, understand structural bases substrate specificity NUDX proteins, RhNUDX1 protein crystallized, structure refined 1.7 Å. By molecular modeling different complexes respective substrates, basis discrimination proteins proposed.

The flower’s color is regarded as one of the most outstanding features rose. Rosa praelucens Byhouwer, an endemic and critically endangered decaploid wild rose species, abundant in phenotypic diversity, especially flower variation, from white to different degrees pink. mechanism underlying this e.g., level petal-color-related genes, worth probing. Seven candidate reference genes for qRT-PCR analysis, including tubulin α chain (TUBA), glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH), histone H2B (Histone2A), eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1-α (EEF1A), 60S ribosomal protein (RPL37), initiation (EIF1A), aquaporins (AQP), were detected transcriptome datasets full blooming flowers white-petaled pink-petaled individuals, their expression stabilities evaluated through analysis. According stability rankings EEF1A showed highest could be chosen suitable gene. Moreover, reliability was demonstrated via analysis six target patterns which, normalization, found consistent with findings result provides optimal gene exploring R. praelucens, which will accelerate dissection petal-color-variation mechanisms praelucens.

Roses are highly valuable within the flower industry. The metabolites of anthocyanins, flavonols, and carotenoids in rose petals not only responsible for various visible petal colors but also important bioactive compounds that human health. In this study, we performed a QTL analysis on pigment contents to locate major loci determine color traits. An F 1 population tetraploid roses segregating was used construct an ultra-high-density genetic linkage map using whole-genome resequencing technology detect genome-wide SNPs. Previously developed SSR SNP markers were utilized increase marker density. Thus, total 9,259 mapped onto seven groups (LGs). final length integrated 1285.11 cM, with average distance 0.14 cM between adjacent markers. flavonols assayed enable analysis. Across 33 components, 46 QTLs detected, explaining 11.85–47.72% phenotypic variation. physically clustered primarily distributed four groups, namely LG2, LG4, LG6, LG7. These results improve basis marker-assisted breeding guide development products.

Whole-genome sequence information for two spp. viz R. chinensis R multiflora available three studies. High-density SNP chip (68 K) further complements studies Rose. A number genes/QTLs have been identified well-characterised traits using high-density genetic maps. Apart from genetics, epigenetics including DNA methylations microRNAs found be associated diverse phenotypes. Despite substantial tools information, rose still bred through conventional methods, perhaps due its ploidy. Adventitious root (AR) formation is a genetically complex trait with high genotypic variability. Therefore, only limited range of cultivars are currently propagated by cuttings in rose. In this study, we analysed the anatomy vitro shoots, early primordia (RP) and ARs diverse set 106 rose genotypes. Correlation analysis indicated that growth shoot diameter vasculature dimensions after 1 week rooting contributed to successful AR formation. Using phenotypic data for genome-wide association studies (GWAS) analyses, nine significantly associated single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) genomic regions contributing various RP traits were identified. The contribution variation was notably greater earlier processes than later developmental stages. combination allowed detection GWAS contain factors potentially limit emergence. Homologues 47 genes known be involved from literature could assigned identified peaks. Further needed investigate suitability SNPs exhibiting strong effects as allele-specific PCR markers use breeding.
