Over three decades ago, the plant-derived anticancer agent taxol (brand name: paclitaxel) was reported from a fungal endophyte colonizing producing plant. The hope that this finding could ever result in sustainable production process has thus far been disappointed. Modern evidence on evolution of secondary metabolites plants vs. fungi suggests hypothesis (that produce such complex plant metabolites) is invalid. Still, numerous inconclusive original studies -and particular, review papers by non-experts field-are continuously being published claim opposite. current commentary tries to deal with topic, taking findings –OMICS and state-of-the art mycology into account. This can hopefully help stop scientific papermills further spreading fake news were capable taxol.

Among the emerging threats in global health, fungal pathogens stand out as some of most important, causing over 1.6 million deaths annually and destroying a third all food crops each year, exacerbating insecurity economic losses. Climate change further amplifies threat by enabling pathogenic fungi to survive at mammalian temperatures, increasing risks zoonotic transmission antifungal resistance. In this context, interdisciplinary research, particularly One Health approach, is crucial for understanding evolution resistance improving diagnostic therapeutic tools. Drawing lessons from agriculture, where integrated pest management strategies successfully mitigate threats, could offer new ways tackle infections humans. Advanced metabolomics diagnostics, including metabolites biomarkers, hold promise early detection personalized treatment. Collaborative efforts between medicine, veterinary science, plant pathology are essential develop drugs improve clinical diseases, fostering more resilient health system.

The recent relaxation of psychedelic drug regulations has prompted extensive clinical investigation into their potential use to treat diverse mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, and substance-abuse disorders. Most trials have relied on a small number known molecules found in nature, such as psilocybin, or long-known synthetic analogs natural metabolites, lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD). Elucidation biosynthetic pathways leading several compounds established an opportunity biology complement chemistry for the preparation novel derivatives with potentially superior pharmacological properties compared drugs. Herein we review metabolic biochemistry from plants, fungi animals that yield medicinally important hallucinogenic specialized metabolites ibogaine, mescaline, acid, N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT). A major challenge to human health is the emergence of drug-resistant pathogenic strains organisms. Studies have found ecologically friendly, cost-effective, and innocuous alternative sources bioactive compounds capable managing menace. This review x-rays endophytic fungal community pharmaceutical applications their secondary metabolites. Endophytic fungi house biologically active compounds, which makes them a good alternative. Also, intrinsic ability produce such an avalanche could be attributed mutualistic interaction with plant's host. Secondary metabolites harvested from been identified categorised: steroids, xanthones, terpenoids, isocoumarins, phenols, tetralones, benzopyranones, enniatrines. also highlights optimisation strategy, co-culture method, chemical epigenetic remodelling, molecular method as approaches adopted boost production compounds. The numerous were equally presented, include properties, well use in industries.
