Accumulating evidence suggests that specific probiotic strains exert hypoglycemic effects on type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), and within Bifidobacterium exhibit potential beneficial T2DM. In this study, α-glucosidase inhibitory activities of 14 were assessed in vitro. The longum WHH2270 with high activity (42.03%) then investigated a high-fat diet/streptozotocin-induced T2DM rat model. Oral administration (4 × 109 CFU/kg/day) for 8 weeks significantly reversed the reduced body weight ameliorated levels fasting blood glucose, serum triglyceride, total cholesterol, glucose tolerance, insulin resistance rats. Using 16S rRNA high-throughput sequencing feces, was revealed to reshape gut microbiome composition by increasing abundances Lactobacillus decreasing UCG_005, Clostridium, Faecalibacterium Besides, fecal short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) including acetate, propionate, butyrate also elevated after administration. Moreover, gene expressions SCFA receptors FFAR2 FFAR3 colon pancreas rats restored administration, accompanied increased acetate. summary, these results provide has improve symptoms alleviating hyperglycemia, which associated changes production. PRACTICAL APPLICATION: may serve as promising agent treatment

Gastrointestinal cancer is a worldwide health challenge due to its dramatically increasing prevalence and as leading cause of cancer-related mortality. Increasing evidence has illustrated the vital role gut microbes-derived metabolites in gastrointestinal progression treatment. Microbial are produced by microbiota that utilizes both extrinsic dietary components intrinsic host-generated compounds. Meanwhile, certain categories such short-chain fatty acids, bile tryptophan, indole derivatives, linked malignancy. In this review, major classes microbial their impacts on various cancers including colorectal cancer, gastric hepatocellular carcinoma, have been introduced. The application predictive biomarkers for early diagnosis prognosis also explored. addition, therapeutic potential strategies target against further evaluated.

Hyperuricemia is the main cause of gout and involved in occurrence multiple diseases, such as hypertension, metabolic disorders chronic kidney disease. Emerging evidence suggests that lactic acid bacteria (LAB) have shown beneficial effects on prevention or treatment hyperuricemia. In this study, urate-lowering effect two LAB strains, Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus 1155 (LR1155) Limosilactobacillus fermentum 2644 (LF2644) hyperuricemic rats were investigated. A rat model was induced by intragastric potassium oxonate, combined with a high purine diet. The oral administration LR1155, LF2644, combination LR1155 LF2644 for 4 weeks significantly prevented rise serum uric (UA) elevated fecal UA levels, increased content up-regulated gene expression transporter, ATP-binding cassette subfamily G-2 (ABCG2), colon jejunum tissues, suggesting accelerated excretion from intestine. Besides, inhibited activity xanthine oxidase (XOD) liver serum, benefited reduce production. addition, strengthened gut barrier functions through an up-regulation expressions occluding mucin2, accompanied reduced inflammatory indicators lipopolysaccharide (LPS) interleukin-1β (IL-1β) rat. Moreover, using 16s rDNA high-throughput sequencing feces, to improve hyperuricemia microbial dysbiosis. genera Roseburia, Butyricicoccus, Prevotella, Oscillibacter, Bifidobacterium may associate microbiota rats. Collectively, results indicated exhibit could be used alone new adjuvant

This literature review aimed to collect investigations on the in vivo evidence for bacteria associated with fermented dairy foods behave as probiotics beneficial effects prevention and treatment of various diseases. All main bacterial groups commonly present high numbers milks or cheeses were taken into account, namely starter lactic acid (SLAB) Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus lactis, L. helveticus, Lactococcus Streptococcus thermophilus, non-starter LAB (NSLAB) Lacticaseibacillus spp., Lactiplantibacillus plantarum, propionibacteria, other less frequently encountered species. Only studies regarding strains proven origin considered. Studies animal models clinical showed that ameliorate symptoms inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), mucositis, metabolic syndrome, aging oxidative stress, cancer, bone diseases, atopic dermatitis, allergies, infections damage caused by pollutants, mild depression. Immunomodulation changes intestinal microbiota mechanisms most often involved observed effects. The results considered indicated milk products are a rich source should be further exploited advantage human health.
