The gut microbiota constitutes a complex ecosystem, comprising trillions of microbes that have co-evolved with their host over hundreds millions years. Over the past decade, growing body knowledge has underscored intricate connections among diet, microbiota, and human health. Bioactive polysaccharides (BPs) from natural sources like medicinal plants, seaweeds, fungi diverse biological functions including antioxidant, immunoregulatory, metabolic activities. Their effects are closely tied to which metabolizes BPs into health-influencing compounds. Understanding how interact is critical for harnessing potential health benefits. This review provides an overview focusing on its role in diseases obesity, type II diabetes mellitus, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, cardiovascular diseases. It explores basic characteristics several impact microbiota. Given significance health, we summarize these BPs, particularly terms immunoregulatory activities, blood sugar, hypolipidemic effect, thus providing valuable reference understanding benefits treating These properties make promising agents preventing comprehensive mechanisms by exert through opens new avenues developing targeted therapies improve

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the hepatic manifestation of metabolic syndrome and one risk factors for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). NAFLD-HCC a injury which there lack effective treatment. The present study demonstrates protective effects Ursolic acid (UA) ameliorating elucidates underlying mechanisms. A C57BL/6 male mouse model was fed high-fat diet (HFD) injected with diethylnitrosamine (DEN) 8 months. administered to HFD+DEN mice in order elucidate direct involvement UA pathogenesis NAFLD-HCC. Liver tissue metabolomics performed by UPLC/Q-TOF-MS. Results revealed that HFD+DEN-induced model, slowed progressive development steatosis, steatohepatitis, fibrosis eventually HCC mice. ameliorates lipid accumulation dysfunction In addition, treatment effectively ameliorated disturbances endogenous metabolism induced HFD+DEN, particularly glycerophospholipid metabolism. Close relationships were discovered between indexes differential metabolites, LPA (0:0/16:0), PE (20:0/20:4(5Z,8Z,11Z,14Z)), PC (15:0/20:2(11Z,14Z)), LysoPC (16:1(9Z)). Moreover, modified expression proteins mRNA related metabolism, could be attributed synthesis (FAS) pathway activation oxidation (FAO) inhibition. This first time it has been shown suppresses moderating presents novel mechanistic explanation amelioration UA, thereby offering new insights into prevention this condition.

Abstract BACKGROUND Cyclophosphamide (Cy) is a frequently used chemotherapeutic drug, but long‐term Cy treatment can cause immunosuppression and intestinal mucosal damage. The barrier gut flora play important roles in regulating host metabolism, maintaining physiological functions protecting immune homeostasis. Dysbiosis of the affects development microenvironment, as well various external systemic diseases metabolic syndrome. RESULTS present study investigated influence sciadonic acid (SA) on Cy‐induced mice. results showed that SA gavage significantly alleviated damage by improving system organ index, response oxidative stress. Moreover, restored morphology, improved villus integrity activated nuclear factor κB signaling pathway, stimulated cytokine production, reduced serum lipopolysaccharide (LPS) levels. Furthermore, microbiota analysis indicated increased t beneficial bacteria ( Alistipes , Lachnospiraceae_NK4A136_group Rikenella Odoribacter ) decreased pathogenic norank‐f‐Oscillospiraceae Ruminococcus Desulfovibrio to maintain CONCLUSION provided new insights into regulation enhance responses. © 2024 Society Chemical Industry.

The complex fatty acid (FA) composition of the edible portion American oysters (Crassostrea virginica) presents a significant analytical challenge to complete characterization. Here, we employed solvent-mediated covalent adduct chemical ionization enable comprehensive de novo characterization its FA composition, with isotope ratio mass spectrometry for initial measurements 13C signatures. Unusual polymethylene-interrupted (PMI) polyunsaturates were unequivocally identified, 22:2(7Z,15Z) dominating at 5.5% (w/w). In contrast, sea urchins collected from same area are abundant in shorter-chain-length C20 PMI-FA. Three even-numbered-chain anteiso branched-chain FAs (BCFAs), C14, C16, and C18, characterized first time. Gulf contain 1.8% total BCFA 23.2% combined EPA DHA. A 100 g serving provides 32.9 mg BCFA; 140.1 PMI-FA; 426.9 Oysters origin exhibit significantly different δ13C values most measured FA, indicating distinct dietary origins.

The dietary fiber in highland barley (HB) may be a key nutrient exerting its physiological functions. How about the effects of other nutrients? In this study, high-fat diet (HFD)-induced obese mice was constructed to investigate HB different nutrients on weight loss. results showed that peeling treatment had varying nutrients. Consumption significantly mitigated gain, postprandial blood glucose levels, organ weight, adipose tissue and fat accumulation mice. also ameliorated hepatic steatosis, hyperlipemia, abnormal liver function, dysregulation inflammatory factor expression Unpeeled once peeled presented best effect. Furthermore, consumption improved imbalance gut microbiota HFD-induced mice, with protein being factors improvement This study highlights potential for treating obesity.
