<p><b>We live in a world of narratives. Storytelling has become increasingly prominent across marketing and management disciplines recent decades, due, part, to its ability incorporate both rational emotional appeals. However, despite the proven success storytelling as corporate branding strategy, potential an export promotion tool is yet be explored within international business (IB) discipline. Based on literature, important at internal level, for constructing organisational identity, external building brand equity through identity value alignment with consumers. In years, nation literature shown that many stakeholders can managed similar way brands. Mirroring brands, involves development country image. Set against context New Zealand IB policymaking, this research three key aims: (1) explore how support performance nation’s goods services markets, (2) ascertain elements techniques best utilised (3) look resources capabilities needed policymaking level part strategy.</b></p> <p>To answer these questions, I propose conceptual framework integrating existing knowledge from storytelling, literatures. The was tested using qualitative approach drawing expert interviews. interviewed nine experts government agencies involved Zealand’s agency, NZ Story group. then analysed gathered data developed understand experts’ practical experience, supported by relevant theory. findings showed there are levels consideration when implementing promotion: setting, discourse story. setting narrative brand, including brand’s values, vision, resource stocks capabilities. where values story tailored target consumer, process co-creation between teller audience. considers engage consumers includes considerations cultural nuances, such consumers’ propensity and/or stimuli. Export narratives informed strategy will have positive influence (and subsequently performance).</p> <p>This theoretical implications, especially policy implications. study explores previously untapped intersection promotion. It presents potential, unexplored tool, so-called indirect strategies. In this study, we analyse organisational resilience in the context of recent COVID-19 pandemic. Combining arguments from resource-based view and ergodicity, theorise that depends on certain key characteristics firms their ability to innovate business models.
