Block center learning in kindergarten is influenced by government education programs, including the driving school program as a that pioneered implementation of independent curriculum. Young children encounter a diverse range of written and multimodal texts in their play everyday lives. Prior to formal education, may not be considered ‘readers’ or ‘writers’ the conventional sense, yet nonetheless, they engage creatively agentively literacies. However, little is known about motives intentions our youngest citizens activity with text. This paper reports sub-section findings from wider ethnographic involving 3 4-year-olds, families practitioners at early childhood setting. Data gathering analysis were shaped by two distinct theoretical lenses, namely, neo-Vygotskian concept perezhivanie posthumanist affect theories. The study are exemplified through vignettes extracted data, which illustrate how children’s intent encounters text underpinned three overarching interrelated goals – make meaning, relationships identities.
