Abstract Dental composite resins often face challenges related to secondary caries, polymerization shrinkage and fracture failure. This study aimed synthesize an experimental resin modified with grapefruit seed extract-mediated titanium dioxide nanoparticles (GSE-TiO₂NPs) evaluate its antibacterial activity mechanical physical properties. Green synthesis of TiO₂ was conducted utilizing GSE. The chemical profile GSE identified through gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. as-prepared were incorporated into composites at concentrations 10 wt.% (10 GSE-TiO₂NPs group) 20 (20 group), unmodified as the control group. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) transmission (TEM) confirmed morphology size synthesized nanoparticles, SEM revealing uniform particle distribution in composite. Antibacterial against Streptococcus mutans assessed using agar disc diffusion method. Mechanical properties, including flexural strength (FS) modulus (FM), evaluated according ISO 4049 standards. Microhardness tested American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM E-384:1999) criteria. Polymerization measured strain gauge Modified exhibited significantly greater S. compared ( p < 0.001 ). group demonstrated increased FS FM values 0.05 All groups surpassed clinically acceptable microhardness threshold without significant differences = 0.588 reduced 0.01 ), showing lowest value (13.06 ± 0.92%). Incorporating enhances activity, improves reduces shrinkage, suggesting a promising approach developing advanced dental materials integrated natural bioactive components. Graphical abstract

In acute renal failure (ARF), the glomerular filtration rate is reduced, and nitrogenous waste products accumulate persistently, which can last anywhere from a few hours to several days. There hope for reversal of rapid loss function caused by this condition. This study, with gentamicin-induced ARF as prospective setting, sets out examine reno-protective benefits virgin coconut oil (VCO) GSH. Furthermore, study evaluated effect medication nanoparticle compositions on kidney markers. The induction achieved intraperitoneal injection gentamicin. To assess function, rats underwent 24 h dehydration hunger before their deaths. examined various aspects, including tests, markers oxidative stress, histology tissue, inflammatory cytokines, immunohistochemistry expression nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB), specific biomarkers tissue damage, such injury molecule-1 (KIM-1) neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL). results our indicated that combination VCO GSH, using both regular formulations, had better protective impact kidneys compared either drug alone. recovery serum markers, are symptomatic organ indicates improvement. was also demonstrated reduction in tubular TNF-α, IL-1β, KIM-1, NGAL. immunohistochemical studies showed therapy, especially nanoforms, greatly improved damaged cellular changes kidneys, shown higher levels NF-κB. shows when administered individually or combined, significantly improve rat model, highlighting potential therapeutic implications. Notably, combined nanoparticulate formulations exhibit substantial effectiveness.

This study aimed to explore the effects of heat stress and black sand acute exposure on erythron profile, hematological antioxidant parameters, as well histological histochemical indices. Catfish were subjected nanoparticles (6.4 g per kg diet), thermal (32 °C), a combined treatment involving both stressors over period 15 days. exposed singly and/or in combination showed significantly lower red blood cells (RBCs) count, hemoglobin (Hb), platelets, white (WBCs) large lymphocytes, small monocytes. Antioxidant indices decreased NPs compared other groups. Notably, led substantial increase percentages RBCs alterations nuclear abnormalities. Histological examinations liver revealed various features, including intracellular bleeding, cytoplasmic vacuolation, tissue deterioration, hepatocyte pyknotic nuclei, displacement, shrinkage, accumulation melanomacrophage cells. In conclusion, underscores that indices, become more pronounced under elevated temperatures indicating potential for synergistic between pollution climate change. holistic approach is crucial developing accurate forecasts complex interactions environmental their implications aquatic ecosystems.
