Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is an irreversible inflammatory respiratory characterized by frequent exacerbations and symptoms such as cough wheezing that lead to airway damage hyperresponsiveness. The primary risk factor for COPD chronic cigarette smoke exposure, which promotes oxidative stress a general pro-inflammatory condition stimulating pro-oxidant pathways and, simultaneously, inactivating anti-inflammatory antioxidant detoxification pathways. These events cause progressive resulting in impaired cell function progression. Treatments available are generally aimed at reducing the of exacerbation. Failure regulate inflammation results lung damage. In quest innovative treatment strategies, phytochemicals, complex plant extracts agarwood essential oil promising sources molecules with activity. However, their clinical use limited issues low solubility poor pharmacokinetic properties. can be overcome encapsulating therapeutic using advanced drug delivery systems polymeric nanosystems nanoemulsions. this study, nanoemulsion (agarwood-NE) was formulated tested its potential extract (CSE)-treated BCi-NS1.1 basal epithelial cells. findings suggest successful counteractivity agarwood-NE against CSE-mediated effects expression cytokines IL-1α, IL-1β, IL-8, GDF-15. addition, induced mediators IL-10, IL-18BP, TFF3, GH, VDBP, relaxin-2, IFN-γ, PDGF. Furthermore, also genes GCLC GSTP1, simultaneously activating PI3K pro-survival signalling pathway. This study provides proof dual activity agarwood-NE, highlighting enormous treatment.

A huge number of plant-derived essential oils (EOs) are reported to have lots ethnomedicinal and biological properties with excellent antibacterial activities. Approximately three hundred EOs (ajowan, anise, basil, camphor, chamomile, clove, citronella, coriander, cumin, eucalyptus, lavender, lemon, orange, peppermint, thyme oils, etc.) documented under economic class based on commercial pharmaceutical values. However, most active crude their constituents like carvacrol, eugenol, geraniol, linalool, thymol, 1,8-cineole, etc. not found in mainstream drug development modules due low solubility, poor bioavailability, rapid volatility profiles, which reduce potency, half-life, pharmacokinetics achieve the ideal drug-ability profiles. To improve use via nanotechnology, we first gathered more information plant sources, extraction methods, potency mode action, importance EOs. Further, various nanotechnology platforms, such as nanocarriers, nanoemulsions, liposomes, cyclodextrins chemical structure conjugation concept relevant examples were described. Technically, through optimization particle size morphology a platform, enhance without losing any sensitive properties, easily penetrate cross bacterial cell membrane, protect from by coating biocompatible materials, aqueous ensure sustainable release, We hope that detailed analyses platforms will encourage academic researchers antibacterials overcoming inadequate profiles potent agents drugs, food, nutrition, beverages, packaging, materials.

Essential oils have unique functional properties, but their environmental sensitivity and poor water solubility limit applications. Therefore, we encapsulated oregano essential oil (OEO) in chitosan nanoparticles (CSNPs) used tripolyphosphate (TPP) as a cross-linking agent to produce (OEO-CSNPs). The optimized conditions obtained using the Box-Behnken design were: concentration of 1.63 mg/mL, TPP 1.27 OEO 0.30%. OEO-CSNPs had particle size 182.77 ± 4.83 nm, polydispersity index (PDI) 0.26 0.01, zeta potential 40.53 0.86 mV, an encapsulation efficiency 92.90%. success was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). scanning electron microscope (SEM) showed that regular distribution spherical shape. vitro release profile at pH = 7.4 initial burst followed sustained OEO. antibacterial activity before after measured agar disk diffusion method. In conclusion, can be future food processing packaging applications because its high biological excellent stability when encapsulated.
