This commentary provides a broader context for interpreting evidence from Latent Class and Profile analyses on complex posttraumatic stress disorder (CPTSD) that was provided in recent contribution to the European Journal of Psychotraumatology. These data analytic strategies are not alone sufficient test construct validity CPTSD. They base their conclusion empirical finding substantial variation latent models obtained with different procedures interpretations fit models, as well interesting additional dispersion when individual patients' symptom counts severity scores PTSD CPTSD examined. However, results actually do provide support one feature validity, demonstrating discriminant by showing consistent differentiation between (with expectable both level persons). Even sample patients diagnosed PTSD, there may be Disorders Self Organization (DSO) sub-group low severity. More detailed examination which DSO symptoms sub-domains characterize is needed order clarify nature DSO/CPTSD construct. Other fully also described.
