Abstract:
This
narrative
state-of-the-art
review
paper
describes
the
progress
in
understanding
and
treatment
of
Posttraumatic
Stress
Disorder
(PTSD).
Over
last
four
decades,
scientific
landscape
has
matured,
with
many
interdisciplinary
contributions
to
its
diagnosis,
etiology,
epidemiology.

have
made
it
apparent
that
chronic
PTSD

a
systemic
disorder

includes

Background
Trauma-focused
therapies
(TFTs)
are
first-line
treatments

posttraumatic
stress
disorder

TFTs
under-utilised,
partly
due
to
clinicians’

fear
that
TFT
is
too
challenging
or
harmful.

the
qualitative

on
how
adults
with
PTSD
experience
