To prevent the transfer of embryos affected by monogenic conditions and/or chromosomal defects, preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) requires trophectoderm biopsy and cryopreservation. In 2-6% biopsies, diagnosis may be inconclusive due to DNA amplification failure or low-quality results. these cases, a round re-warming, re-biopsy, re-cryopreservation is required obtain diagnosis. other when IVF centre starts providing PGT patients develop an indication because multiple failures, miscarriages birth child after IVF, cryopreserved untested warmed, biopsied, then re-vitrified. However, it still unclear whether manipulations reduce reproductive outcomes PGT.

Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) involves taking a biopsy of an early embryo created through in vitro fertilisation (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). Genetic is performed on the biopsy, order to select which transfer. PGT began as experimental procedure 1990s, but now integral part assisted human reproduction (AHR). allows for selection can reduce risk transmission inherited disease and may chance implantation failure pregnancy loss. This rapidly evolving area, raises important ethical issues. review article aims give brief history PGT, overview current evidence along with highlighting exciting areas research advance this technology.
