Abstract In this study, we investigated the embodied nature of vector as one fundamental concepts in mathematics. For over a decade, the United Arab Emirates has used English as medium of instruction in government schools. Previous research concluded that lack proficiency can make learning Science and Math difficult for students; however, on students' experiences challenges they face this area is limited. Therefore, study explores views regarding English. The employed mixed methods approach using survey with 236 students from 2 large school districts Abu Dhabi, qualitative data collected through interviews 9 high-school students. found valued English, were aware teaching limitations current system, believed adopted exam-based system impeded Science, learning, preferred multimodal resources learning.
